... pfloyd IMOs for Warren ...

1) ... any positives happening at the WarriorDome last night ???? - it is easy to look at a lopsided loss from the "glass is half empty" point of view BUT if you turn your head JUST a LITTLE that glass IS just as much half full ... after reflecting and posting on the near flawless TEAM game that Portsmouth played I put on the Pink Floyd Pulse cd to "take a closer look" at what I saw from Warren "basketball" in the WarriorDome last night:

2)... Warren DID play a very good basketball game for 24 minutes ... held their own - defensively holding Whitley to 0 pts, Underwood 4 pts., Evans 4 pts (no 3 pters), Jordan 0 pts. CAN'T DO better than that imo outstanding effort ... PHS 48 WHS 46 after 3 quarters/24 minutes ...

3)... Warren thru 3 quarters handled the Portsmouth pressure man to man defense as well as anyone this season ONLY 5 TOs ... PHS 48 WHS 46 after 3 quarters/24 minutes ...

4)... Warren had 7 players in the scoring column ( Venham 11 pts, Leffingwell 4, Hastie 2, Cunningham 12, Ward 9, Knost 2, Winland 6) ... WHS got the ball into scoring positions with the right people getting touches ...PHS had scoring from but 5 players ... PHS 48 WHS 46 after 3 quarters/24 minutes ...

5)... Warren had 3 treys from beyond the arc by Tyler Ward to get them BACK into the game in the 3rd ... the kid stepped up, drained 2 BIG ,clutch, TEAM "had to have" threes in the 3rd - MO on the Warren side going into the 4th ... PHS 48 WHS 46 after 3 quarters/24 minutes ...

... as we ALL know 3 quaters/24 minutes do not a game make ... PHS 75 WHS 58 after 4 quarters/32 minutes ...

... BUT (and there is always a BUT) ...

* ... Warren showed us the Warriors of the future AND what could be more PT for the youngsters in the PRESENT/POST SEASON as Coach Maddox put the JVs on the floor together in the Varsity game in the final few minutes of action ... as Freshmen Evan French/Reese Patton both knocked down 3's to end the Warren scoring vs the Portsmouth starting unit pressure man D ... PHS 75 WHS 58 a final ...

* ... I have to give a plug to Coach Duckworth's JV squad ... 19-1 on the season - outstanding TEAM ... TEAM meaning great chemistry, scorers blended with outstanding role players ... the Warren faithful will see nothing but even BETTER basketball next season ... names to remember for the post season/next couple/three years for Warren basketball : Evan Yabs, Adam Lang, Matt Drayer, Chaz Miller, Evan French, Danny Pannell, Reese Patton, Curtis Cheuvront, Heath Blair, throw in Steve Farley who picked up 4 points in the JV game last night ( if I missed anyone I apologize) ... add these freshmen/sophs to the returning nucleus on varsity sophomore Dylan Leffingwell, juniors Tyler Ward, Jeremy Hastie, Josh Winland, Jace Knost, Austin Henthorn, Bradley Proctor ... a true TEAM coming back for Coach Maddox in the 2011-12 campaign ... look for next seasons' Warriors to IMPROVE on the 17-3 record of 2010-11 ...

... that's what pfloyd saw/sees through his bifocals while feeling "Comfortably Numb" reflecting on the Warrior game last night vs PHS from the "glass half full" perspective ...

Thanks again! They always say "what doesn't kill me makes me stronger". lol Now that the Warriors are O for Floyd, we have a commitment for next year. (If there is a next year) You will be receiving your "Warrior Dome" pass, and we will do all we can to disperse the Curse. We have alot of chemistry, just waiting for the right time and place to pull it out. The Black Bag keeps getting heavier, after all
it holds the Ouija Board, Magic 8 Ball, and now the Chemistry.

Nice To meet you Trojan Dave. Keep Pfloyd in check at the Convo, tell him to wear that Warren Shirt. If your real good, I can get you one too. lol

... 32,16,6 ... Warriors are "O for Floyd" ! Coach Maddox will have me stopped at the door for sure LOL ... the "Pfloyd Curse" ... trojandave getting walking orders to keep the Floyd in check at the Convo LOL ... next I can't have more than 1 soft pretzel, 1 bag of Skittles, water only to drink ;-p ... wow! come to think of it I was in the stands last season when Ironton came calling to knock off the Blue, also in the stands the last time Belpre beat the Blue at the Warrior Dome on the final shot by Mr. Thornhill I believe ... might just be a "floyd curse" LOL ... BUT I like all the folks in Warren! couldn't handle being band for life - I'm thinkin' next years Warrior Blue will be able to "debunk" the so called "floyd curse" ... 32, 16, 6 - thanks for setting me up with tickets the last 2 weeks - thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the good folks who support the Warriors - great people - I owe you big my friend ...

For some reason, I can't get myself to believe that Your Presence in the stands will win or lose a basketball game for us! LOL After all, you were in the stands at Logan when we played Logan....Its been great having you there. BTW Thanks for coming to the games, hope to see you there again. The "soapbox" conversatons are always a pleasure. Now, go get that Warren Shirt and the Black Bag we have more basketball games to play. ( And win maybe :) )

What a way to end the regular season for the Trojans!!.......I think the 4th quarter may have been the best our kids have played all year!!..........WARREN IS A VERY GOOD BASKETBALL TEAM WITH A VERY GOOD COACH!!

The Trojans answered the call in the last 8 minutes with some outstanding play at BOTH ends of the court........Zaide Whitley hit two HUGE 3's and Wayne Evans added 1 just a minute later to push the lead to 59-50.......but PHS didn't stop there, and continued to build the lead to 19 points.

Very proud of Coach Collins, his staff, and the kids!!!..........the best regular season finish in 20 years......16-4.......best finish ever in the SEOAL.......second all alone........and 11 straight wins, the final 10 by 10 or more points..........our kids are peaking at the right time.

Best wishes to Coach Maddox and his Warriors.......17-3 is a great season and they are very capable of making a run to the regionals.........nice to meet ex-coach 78 and 32, 16, 6.

AND GREAT to see Pfloyd again.......and I wish him a complete recovery, and after talking to him it sounds really good........I'm glad that our Trojans could put on a good performance for him.

GO TROJANS!!!
