Tryouts are free, cost per person will be decided on that nite by the coach of your team and how many tourny's they will play. Some coaches are playing 6 others more or less..For more info contact Dan Wolford his number is on the shooters' website..hope that helps, every kid will be assigned a team..

What if a kid shows up that really isn't appropriate for AAU? Will she be placed on a team too?

I believe our thinking is "yes", we are evaluation players three times this season. The beginning, middle and the end, in hopes that this will show parents of the improvement. I have coached for the last 4 yrs in this and see improvement buy those girls that truly work at it, even the talented players get better.

I am talking about the bottom kids. The ones that have played biddy ball for 2 seasons and still cant catch the ball or dribble. How would those players benefit from being placed on a team. Wouldn't they benefit more by going to the park with Mom or Dad and working on those skills? Every kid that shows up being placed on a team sounds like rec ball, not AAU. But that is just my opinion.

Well there are some teams that play mainly GBA, or NAYS, OYB tournys..not all travel teams play in AAU Tournys..still if your kid is not ready and you bring him, they will develop through practicing with better talent, competing against better kids, but in the end if they dont work at it in the offseason, then nothing will help..some parents want to give their kid a chance to try, that is what we offer, but you also have to be realistic, have seen kids come in like that and just quit showing up, have seen others and coached others that worked hard, you have to realize that once they go back to school ball, they are a step ahead of alot of other players. In the end that is the parents/players choice.
