Should be an awesome game. Pits two aau teammates against each other in Justice and Stegman. Anyone know the last time these two teams met up in basketball?

Toss up game.....If the game were being played at Waverly I would pick Burg as Justice has never played well in that gym.

They have played a few times in the last 15 or20 years.Jody Evans team played them to double or triple overtime .Peebles was leading by one when Randy Meade missed a dunk on a fast break with about 3 or 4 seconds left and lost on a buzzerbeater from the top of the key by a Burg reserve player

I like Burg in the underdog role for this game. Peebles is the #1 seed and AP #9. Burg should be able to come into this game and play loose.

Played in 2001 District Semi-Finals
Wheelersburg was led by junior Andrew Burleson. Peebles were led by sophomore Michael Cheesbro.
Exciting game; Peebles made a big 4th quarter comeback to get within 3, after down 14. Burleson had 38 on the night; he took over the game late, believe playing with 4 fouls
Sunday should be a great matchup. Peebles is an excellent team that will be well-prepared, but you can never count-out a Tom Barrick coached club.

Wheelersburg also put us out in 1992, after power forward Scott Williams broke his foot during the game.

Yes.Losing a 18 ppg player was huge in that game.Another nail biter.

Going to be a great game, look for the indians to open it up on a bigger floor. Should be exiting down to the wire. I take Peebles by 7

This one was a heartbreaker, it was back and forth if I remember correctly. After the Williams guy broke his ankle or foot it was like the air was knocked out of the Indians. The Burg has always seemed to have the Indians # and if Peebles depends too much on Blake to carry them then the season might as well be over before the game even gets started. However, if Countryman and Daniels step up big and I do mean BIG then this Peebles team might even make it to Columbus. Then again it might be wishfull thinking.jchitwood wrote:Wheelersburg also put us out in 1992, after power forward Scott Williams broke his foot during the game.

I think Burg will try and limit the posessions and keep the game lower scoring. How does Peebles match up on the inside if Burg pounds it inside to Stegman?hangman wrote:Going to be a great game, look for the indians to open it up on a bigger floor. I don't know how burg's point guard is im sure decent, he will have his hands full with Trent Arey. The boy plays great d, he puts alot of pressure on the ball usaully gets under players skin.

Mcbee is pretty tough, young like Arey he will get right back in his grill I suspect. Both being sophs I would say they have full knowledge of each other be it aau or camps.
