Coming into the game, 20-1 Peebles was averaging 82 points per game and only had 52 in regulation tonight. Musta been some W'burg defense. !!

Congrats to Burg and the Indians on a game well played. Did the zebras call a fair game? I heard the fouls were a litle off balance and Stegman made a running back play to put it in over time.

Stegman's shot was a 12' jumper.

Anyone ever find the Peebles bus driver? Lou has asked for him 3 times....LOL

when you have a real good team and you lose in the tournament it is always tough, especially in overtime. when you know it really only took one more successful possession to win, especially down the stretch. there are no mulligans in basketball.

i think peebles wore down over time. i dont know but have they ever had to play that hard and fight to get shots off all year???? conditioning could have been the differense.

The no call on stegmans walk at the end of regulation cost peebles the game. The kid took 3 steps and there was no call.

Stegman has really good footwork and has some really good moves around the basket. I think he would be better against a stronger guy than a really athletic player such as Dwyer from Valley.
Daniels and the others could not handle Stegman. Justice was the only one who could slow him down.

Good win Pirates!!!

and how many other violations go uncalled on every team in every game???
nobody could really slow the kid down, and he gave a heck of a preformance...
you can't blame the outcome of the game on one missed call...

As far as the discussion on the officiating goes Peebles ended up in the double bonus in I believe both halves and Wheelersburg wasn't in the bonus the entire game.....not necessarily why they lost though. Some things I do think are merit worthy to complain about is the fact that IMO a few fouls that were called on our guards should have been jump balls and Schankweiler traveled on multiple occasions(I sat by the rail on the side it happened and counted 4 steps with the ball in his hands with 4 secs to go in regulation with the Indians up two). Some other big factors in this one was the fact that Burg got nearly 85% of the rebounds on both sides of the ball during the first quarter and they did a great job of slowing the game down to their pace. Stegman couldn't miss the entire game. Peebles did a good job in the fourth quarter double teaming him on the lobs he received in the post but help was nonexistant in the first and it resulted in some easy pts. Also, the Indians forced to many bad shots instead of waiting for something to open up(especially in the overtime).

For the seniors this season....everyone is obviously disappointed that we couldn't have made a deeper run this year but you all fought for everything you recieved and left it all on the court tonight. Dont get discouraged, very few players can say that they achieved what you all have over the past couple seasons. It was a great experience watching you all play this year.

Stats that I did get

Peebles:Blake led all scorers with 27pts followed by Andy with 18, Jake with 7, and Tyler with 6.

Wheelersburg: Andy Stegman had 31pts

Congrats Burg.Great coaching to have one foul in the first half and a total of 5 fouls in the entire game .OT included.Congratulations to Peebles on a great year.Too bad the Burg curse continues.I think all ,but ;one game out of 6 games in the districts in 20 years has ended in OT.Good job coach Arey. This is your first year of I hope many.

Well,, you heard wrong. Justice and Countryman both should have fouled out of this game in regulation if the officials had called all the fouls that occurred. You could hear the slaps every time a Burg player drove the lane and a lot weren't called. Justice even pushed Stegman in the back late in the game on a rebound that almost sent Andy out of bounds, but he recovered and scored. The last basket Justice scored on and got the foul call should have been a charge. Stegman was standing completely still and Justice ran right over top of him and they called the block.

And as far the fouls being so different for both teams with Peebles putting the Burg in the double bonus in the 2nd half but them not even getting in the one and one, you will have that when one team (Peebles) shoots nothing but 3"s and the other (Burg) pounds it inside and draws contact. I'd like to see the stats, but I bet Peebles didn't have more then 8 or 10 points in the paint all game.

Great game though. Congrats to the Burg an the huge win and to Peebles on another fine season. The Burg just seems to have the Indians number.

By the way, Justice did not lead all scorers. Stegman did with 31 points. Peebles had no answer for Andy.

Awesome...I've learned over the years to never count out Burg with Barrick on the sidelines. Good luck against Ironton*

Ditto for the Indians shooting too many outside.Should have used the inside from the beginning. Every time we went inside we got undressed.Smart coaching by Barrick. As for Countryman and Justice should have been called for more fouls,,,,,Get real.Congratulations to coach Barrick and his fine Kids.Congratulations to Coach Arey in his first year and his kids.We were all treated to a great game.
