Ripley vs. Madiera 2/26
At the half, Madiera leads by 2, 24-22. They owned the first quarter, outscoring the Jays 15-8, but Ripley fought back hard in the second to lead by 2 before Madiera got 4 unanswered to end the quarter. Who will win? Depends on which Blue Jay teams walks out of the locker room-let's hope that it's the 2nd quarter team!

Re: Ripley vs. Madiera 2/26
It was a close one! Ripley could not get shots to fall for the first part of the 1st quarter. The score ran to 13-2 before the Blue Jays finally started battling back. The Jays were led in scoring by Demarco Washington with 20. Logan Perkins was back in the lineup tonight after illness and had 13 points, but his real contribution was his 14 rebounds!!! His second career double-double!! Jeron Taul was also in double digits with 10. The rest of the starters had solid performances, though Jordan Mitchell had some troubles hitting the 3. Riley Salens came off the bench and played very well, Michael Haley and Jay Woodruff also came in off the bench with good contributions
The second quarter belonged to Ripley, while the 3rd was when the Blue Jays finally took the lead and never looked back. Madiera never gave up though-they pulled back within 3 points with about a minute on the clock, but the Jays held on and held onto the lead thanks to some good free throw shooting.
There was definitely some bad blood here and some questionable scorekeeping. Madiera expected an easy win and were surprised by the Jays turning the score around on them. They started throwing a lot of elbows and dirty shots. I say questionable scoring because by our count one player for Madiera had 5 fouls and was still playing while a second had 6.

Hard to believe this statement. Tournament games have official scorers and teams keep a book also. Shouldn't be any way to get this wrong.

Believe it or not, your choice. It's based on the very UN-official count kept by my wife and other fans in the stands.pigskinguru wrote:BlueJayDad wrote: I say questionable scoring because by our count one player for Madiera had 5 fouls and was still playing while a second had 6.

blue jay dad,
no offense but i would think the 3 scorekeepers might be more on top of it than some fans even if one is your wife. doesn't kennedy's wife keep stats as well?
