At this point in the season it appears anything can happen, as tonight's game vs SP will attest.. My thought for Portsmouth's success? Get it into the big man and have him carry you. He is the most dangerous and most effective player on offense for the Trojans.

The first w/l is JV, the second varsity. It didn't quite paste correctly.

The last game versus Paint Valley was really well executed. The big kid Marko was very good and aggressive I believe he had 21 and a ton of rebounds, 3 or 4 blocked shots and hampered several others. Northwest took the rest of the team out of their comfort level. Blankenship was a beast in the 4th quarter. Great crowd from Mohawk country, hope to see the same Sat.

I am getting a motel room in Athens on Friday and staying the week-end, somebody sure as heck will be playing somewhere.......never in 30 years have I seen something as screwed up as the brackets that were initially published.......

Thanks for the results, the Mohawks kinda have me scratching my head. Not sure what to think of them, some good wins and some loses against teams I would have thought they would win. With an 11-11 mark they are the underdog, but I think they are a dangerous team that we will have to show up for. We cannot take quarters off and expect to escape.

The Trojans were not on their A game vs. South Point, but I give the Pointers a lot of credit for their effort..........now that PHS has advanced to the Convo for the first time in 7 years, they have to play better to beat the Mohawks.

It will be great to see our Trojans at the Convo, but the Trojan Nation is not satisfied with just being there.......we want to keep advancing. I would love to see a great turnout of fans like we had at Jackson.

A win by Portsmouth will give the Trojans their 25th season of at least 18 wins since 1916.

Northwest seems to be peaking at the right time, but I don't think it will be enough. Portsmouth didn't play their best, but still managed to get by. Northwest did play at the Convo last year, so that could be a little bit of an advantage. Basically I see this as Portsmouth's game to win, but if they come in flat Northwest could pull off the upset. With this game being so late (9:15), how the coaches prepare the teams could be a factor too. Making sure the kids get a small early dinner and not getting to the Convo too early can be important.

I've seen both teams this year and Porstmouth definitely has the better talent of the two but the Mohawks fight from beginning to end. They have bodies flying all over the floor going for looseballs and rebounds. Alot of their success comes from just how hard they play...Porstmouth better come ready to play and scrap or they'll be in for a surprise. It'll be interesting to see how McKinley reacts with Crabtree down low...cant wait to see this game! Trojans by 13.
