My thoughts are that Portsmouth is VERY lucky to still be playing. After that game against South Point, they should be very fortunate. I've seen both these teams play this year and Portsmouth is by far better.

Thats what everyone said before we played South Point. We got to stay focused on the next game we play and bring our A GAME or we will be sent packing.

Yes there will be a student bus going up. Right now there is just one but they have said 2 is very possible.

The Trojans are holding late practices starting on Wednesday, finishing with a Fan Appreciation Night at 8:00 on Friday night.........good idea on Coach Collins' part to get the kids accustomed to playing late in the evening.

Portsmouth has the greater talent, however over the past 5 or so years Northwest has had some quality wins over Portsmouth teams with better talent, NW usually has a solid game plan for the Trojans....im hoping my Mohawks can pull it off. I do know the place will be loud from what I can see on this forum Portsmouth has a big fan base and NW going to the Convo for a second year in a row they are gonna a bring alot of loud crazy otwanians and rardenites (yes I made those terms up) this should be a fun game and overall great experience for both schools and communities.

So far this season, the Trojans:

1. Have posted the best record at PHS since 1991........17-4
2. Had the highest finish in the 5 years of being in the SEOAL.......2nd place, 10-2 league mark
3. First time since 1999 beating Ironton, Chillicothe, and Wheelersburg in the same year
4. Finished in the AP top 10 (#10) for the first time since 1991
5. Won the first sectional in 7 years, and the 59th sectional in school history
6. First time to have 3 players (Evans, McKinley, and Bendolph) on 1st team SEOAL
7. The current 12 game winning streak is the longest since the 24-3 1990 state runnerup team.
8. Have given up fewer PPG on defense (50.7) than the 61 (53.9), 78 (57.0), and 88 (58.5) state championship teams
9. Coach Eugene Collins is the first PHS coach to be recognized as the SEOAL Coach of the Year (co-coach with Kellough of CHS)
10. Wayne Evans, Dion McKinley, and Andrew Bendolph combined are averaging over 50 PPG.
11. Went 16-0 vs. Logan, Marietta, Jackson, and Gallia Academy over the last 2 seasons
12. Handed Chillicothe its only SEOAL loss.......at Portsmouth 52-42......ending a 14 game losing streak vs. CHS
13. Have beaten Wheelersburg 3 straight times after losing 10 of 12 to the Burg
14. Have a current mark of 29-11 this decade after going 100-121 in the 2000's, the first losing decade in school history
15. Have posted 2 straight winning seasons for the first time since 2001(19-5) and 2002(15-8)

Our kids and coaches have accomplished a lot this season, and hopefully there will be some more things to add to this list before the season is over............GO TROJANS!!!

You and me both my Friend, you and me both! biggdowgg told me he was talking to Roger at Valley and was assured that it would be on 99.3. I sure hope so, as it is the only hope I have of hearing it as I cannot get the other channels on the computer 600 miles away.

For those that go to the game, make sure you buy a game program........take a look at Portsmouth's district tournament record........and compare it to every other team in the tournament........incredible stats that the Trojans have compiled.........long overdue that we are back at the Convo, and hopefully our kids will bring their best game with them.

I was in my car heading to work and chuck Greenslate said the game will be on 107.5 tomorrow night. If I can get somebody to do the gamecast or help with it then you can watch it that way. I'll have to get NW's roster and starters to be completely prepared.

It's tournament time anything can happen
SP matched up really good against PHS and shot pretty well and Portsmouth didn't shoot as good as they have. Plain and simple. For shooting 4-20 from 3 they still put up 65 points.

Both of PHS recent wins however are playing in the D2 district final though. Congrats Warren and Chilly!

You cant say SP shot well either.They missed alot of 3's.Portsmouth better play better or the Convo is all they will get.IMO!
