Good luck to the Marauders! These boys have made a miraculous transformation since last year and deserve the chance to play at the Convo. They have heart, soul, and know how to play as a team. After watching the Ironton/Oak Hill game, I was unimpressed by the Tigers. I was expecting a lot more out of them. I know they was playing a very good Oak Hill team, but Ironton should have beat that team by more than 20. But, I still think I-town beats Meigs and moves on to the District Finals.

I think this is Meigs' first trip to the district since the Marauders beat Gallipolis in a sectional game at South Webster. Can't remember the year without looking it up, but I think Jeff Skinner, now Athens head coach, was the Meigs mentor that year. May have been 1997 or 1998.

Just looked it up. Meigs ousted Gallipolis, 52-47, at South Webster to end the Gallians 1997-98 season at 11-10 overall and 8-6 in SEOAL play.
