Does anyone have an update on the condition of #21 Travis Elliott from Ironton? He was taken to the hospital after the game with a possible head injury. PRAYERS GOING OUT FOR THIS YOUNG MAN FROM THE BURG

I knew he went down really hard and did not look like he knew where he was when he went to the bench. I was surprised he came back into the game after that. Hopefully everything is ok.

first congratulations to the wheelersburg pirates, and extended luck in the tourney, and secondly thanks to the tigers for another exciting year of fighting tiger sports, now onto baseball.

I guess Im gonna save myself 5 bucks to park, game ticket, along with the $4 popcorn and the $3 diet soda(gotta watch my figure),then the all important Mikes One stop pizza on the way home, and those cold dogs to and from Athens. All told I figue I will save about $40.

Thank you to all the Burg fans for helping me see the light.I think I'll just go to the Dog track.

Smart move you should have took me with you that was embarrassing to watch.

pembrook burrows III wrote:Sounds like this one is a no-brainer. Since Ironton is lacking in fans, discipline, maturity, tournament savvy, and coaching ability to match the genius of Tom Barrick, maybe the SEODAB oughta just wave Wheelersburg on through to the Regionals and save everyone the trouble. The Pirates looked unbeatable against Peebles, the senior Stegman is at the top of his game, and Ironton hasn't been able to match its level of play since the last Burg encounter nearly 4 weeks ago. The Tiger's uninspired defensive and rebounding effort against a gutty Meigs bunch gave Ironton the look of a team ripe for an early spring break away from the Convo. At least that seems to be the consensus opinion on here except for a few stubborn Ironton holdouts. So congrats to Wheelersburg!

Seems to have worked out that way, right Pembrook. Thanks for the congrats, though premature. Where's the congrats since the game ended?

I guess when you beat a Top 10 DIII from Ohio and hold that same team that averaged almost 80 a game to 58 in OT you get to glorify it all you want.

And so a tempestuous season ends for the Fighting Tigers. It looked to me like after last season's success, Ironton was well situated to have a very memorable season. Actually, in a way, it was; but not the way we fans wanted.

This a legitimate question for Ironton or Burg posters and I'm not trying to start anything, just want to know the answer.

Does anyone know if Ironton has ever beaten Wheelersburg in the tourney? I know the Burg knocked them off in 1984 at Portsmouth when Todd Staker tapped in a last second miss at the buzzer and I know the Pirates won in 2006 when Gagai almost single handed kept the Tigers in the game. Have they ever played in the tourney other than those two games?

The Staker tip in at the buzzer game was actaully in 82 in the sectional final at Portsmouth.

Ironton has alot to look forward to over the next couple of seasons, hopefully Sophomore Dion Brown can make His return to the Tiger Lineup, if so watch out for a strong Tiger Team if all the Players return.

Predicted Roster: (if everyone returns to play, not counting this years Froshmen or anyone else that might come out to play)

Johnson..........SR
Carter............JR
Fletcher..........JR
White............JR
Culbertson.......JR
Glover............JR
Duty..............JR
Scweickart.......JR
Dion Brown.......JR
