Jeeps are up 27-15. Not much to say bout this one, Webster owned the last part of 2nd quarter. Lots of missed layups for the eagles and Webster is knocking down the open shots. Both teams are playing good D. Just Webster is taking advantages of their opportunities when open.

Anyone know when the last time Eastern won a game at the Convo and made the District Finals? I believe the last District title for the Eagles was in 1990 but was wandering when the last time they made the District championship game?

Eastern(D4), along with Belpre(D3), made it to the state semifinals in 2001. I remember because I was there with my now dear departed dad. The school he graduated from beat Eastern, and the school I graduated from beat Belpre. In the finals, my school, of which my dad was school board president when I played in the late 70's, had a trey attempt in the air mid-way thru the 4th qtr to take the lead against LeBron's team, eventually losing 63-53. LeBron made a "smooth" 11 of 14 FGs, had 10 rebs(9 offensive), 3 steals, 3 assists, 3 turnovers, and a block.

The following year, LeBron's team moved up to D2 lost in the finals as LeBron had 7 turnovers and made 14 of 21 FG.

2000 was the last time an Eagle team won a game at the Convo. They beat state ranked Green Bobcats in the Semi. They were also District Runner Up in 1996.

also an FYI, i'm guessing Austin Loop was at 50% tonight as he's been sick all weekend and fell down some stairs. He was good tonight, not great. Scott was big all night. Sutton scored more than usual. Josh Wright collected 4 boards in the first 2 minutes and I lost count after that. Eastern tried to slow the tempo but it only worked against them, burning clock and missing 100 layups.

South Webster didn't play their best tonight, but it doesn't matter----a win is a win! I know there was a lot of banter on here about Eastern possibly winning this game, but it is tough to expect a team that was 4th in SOC1 to match up with a team that was 2nd in SOC2. I think Eastern missed some chances tonight early and then fell into a hole they couldn't dig out of. Get healthy Austin! We need you at 100% for Saturday morning! Both Eastern teams tonight were very small and the size difference hurt them.

Webster has historically struggled in the semi-final game at the Convo, and this year was no different early. Shots just didn't seem to be falling but their offensive rebounds made up for it. Many of those putbacks won't be there against Leesburg Fairfield with Cox in the paint. Overall, to not play great but still win by 24pts in the District Semis is not a bad thing. No more gimmes from here on out...good luck on Saturday Jeeps.*

Great win, any win is good to get to keep playing this time of year. I'd take 20-19 win vs 67-70 loss. Keep crashing the boards and boxing out and it doesn't matter who is in the paint one guy can't keep everyone of the glass! Go Jeeps !!!

Swank---I don't have a team in this tournament but you make it pretty easy for people to want to root against your jeeps. After reading your posts all week I think I will get a real sense of satisfaction when your team gets their rearends handed to them.
