It's funny how you've taken two posts of mine, which gave a lot of praise to Chillicothe's basketball program, and somehow been insulted by them. The last post basically summarized general arguments that have been made by several posters here, parts of which I don't agree with. You also liked to ignore the part where I said it is all conjecture and it does not really matter. The record of what the Chillicothe program has been historically and it it has done under Coach Kellough is a very good one. I don't get why some folks, like yourself, get all defensive when other programs or coaches from across the district are brought up as good to very good ones and take it as an insult to Chillicothe, when almost every poster here recognizes Chillicothe as a very good program and says Coach Kellough does a nice job with the Cavs.

bman, i just wanted to state my debate above on how i think this coach gets the most out of his kids. I've seen Chillicothe in the past and don't want it to go back to the old days when everyone was laughing at the boys program. Coach k has changed that and i hope he is here for awhile.

Now back to the game.. I honestly think any of the four teams in this regional can make it to state. I hope my cavs shoot well because i know they will defend. I'm excited to see another game at the regional level. Go get em cavs!

I dont think Chillicothe has ever been laughed at. While i was in school 2002-05 we were no powerhouse and did not win any titles. But we were certainly no push over. We beat some pretty good teams and lost our fair share as well. We were also in D1 though :)

Hobbs was a joke I will admit that. But it wasn't like we were not competing with teams. We didn't finish last in the OCC when I was there. And Stewart had some nice teams with some nice runs. 96' I believe they went to the district finals. But you are right, we had A LOT of talent. We scrimmaged the 08 team in open gym that year we won state and worked them the first couple games, before we got tired because we were obviously out of shape college kids! I remember Kellough telling us, "You guys are going to help us win State!" I remember thinking, "Yeah right" lol. Chillicothe has ALWAYS had talent! No arguing that!

I thought it was something like that. I believe in 96' they lost to Zanesville in the district semis. not sure though. I was only a kid! Stewart was a good coach. Had some good teams in the 90's
Sorry to get off topic people! Go Cavs!

Hobbs wasn't as bad of a coach as everyone makes him out to be. When I played let me just name a few of the talented athletes. JJ Sullinger-Jay Richardson(Oakland Raiders)- Simon Frasier(ex-Browns player)- Kevin Anderson-Joe SMith--Doug Scott(Dayton Flyers/Broke our rim dunking one game) - seth gaiters- Heine-Fiebig! And all those players were inour conference. And thats only a few. We went 12-10 my senior year. How is hobbs a bad coach when we played that kind of talent?? Not knocking the competition the cavs play now but from the years 1996 to whatever year the cavs joined the SEOAL had we of been in the SEOAL it would of been a completely diff. story i'd say and Coach Hobbs would have been a "Great" Coach. Personally playing for 3 years with the guy I enjoyed him as a person and a coach. D1 and playing conference games against D3 schools---HUGE difference. Im not knocking all the competition Chilli plays by any means. But some of those SEOAL teams arent very solid to put it nicely. It was hard to sit through some of those games in the 1st half. My father and I went to the 94 game against Firestone! Those highschool boys looked like real men.....Think of that 94' team playing some of those teams today! That'd be crazy

Wow Cavs fans way off the topic of the game. Since we are let me state facts.

1970's. Coach Tom Cuppett averaged over 17 wins per year.
1980's through 2005. Coaches average just over 10 wins per year.
2006 to current. Coach Gary Kellough averages over 17 wins per year.

Coach Cuppett era. At least 3 District Championships. Hall of Fame inducted
Coach Kellough era. 4 district championships, 1 Elite Eight appearance, 1 State Championsip
One of less than 100 coaches with 400 career wins.

One common denominator of all of these eras including the 80's through 2005 is Chillicothe kids are still the same. Good quality kids with talent.

Go Cavs!!!
