Are you kidding?? Wheelersburg shot 28% for the game while Portsmouth shot 41%. Had Wheelersburg shot even a poor 35% they would have won the game. The 'Burg's 3 for 22 in the 1st half is where the 10 point lead came from..... and the game.
I meant to say early in the second half. PHS missed a couple easy buckets down low and great rebounding by burg led to one and done possesions. Had PHS made easy baskets down low and extended the lead I just think Burg wouldn't have went on such a big run and their confidence wouldn't have been there. but who knows it's over now.
Burg outscored them 15-6 in the 3rd quarter. I just thought PHS could have put Burg away early in the 2nd half but Burg rebounded and went on a huge run.

you keep talking about desciplineand CLASS, please dont take away from our KIDS on the floor, because of a few posters on here getting under your skin this was a hard fought game by both teams, so lets try to act like adults and stop all the bullcrap about putting high school kids down.

and lets be honest, there is posters on here that make it hard for BOTH sided s to support the other not only one sided....If burg would have won,I would have supported them ,,as they are a scioto county team.

for those that keep saying , The Trojans will get beat by 20,and we have no chance...maybe we will...maybe we wont...BUT we do have the oppurtunity,,and our kids have worked very hard to get here, they have had some bad games, and some great games,,,thats just the way it is...

like I said above, congrats to Burg on a fine season, and good luck to the Trojans.

for the fans on both sides,,enough of the "talk"..we are talking about kids

Oh come on people... yea lets bash wheelersburg whenever we get a chance like in every sport after they get beat... sometimes we can't be the best at everything even though it usually turns out that way  keep your heads up pirates: great year, soc champs, district champs, and a couple of "mysterious calls" away from heading to the regional final... congrats

I was responding to 14U's comment about the "Peake All-Stars". He/she cast the first stone, I was simplying saying the same thing you are that you shouldn't call out someone on having transfers when you have some yourself. If you want to gloat and say I told you so, that is fine, but Burg has a PROGRAM, not just one good year. When you consistently make it out of your sectional, you will have room to brag, but when you only make it out once out of the past 7 years, that is nothing to brag about. I give Coach Collins credit and he seems to have the program headed in the right direction, but consistently winning year after year is still yet to be seen.

Congratulations to the Trojans on the comeback win........and also to the Pirates for a gritty effort which shows why Wheelersburg is a such a respected program throughout the region and the state.

Defense and tempo ruled this game.......and in the end some big plays by the Trojans made the difference.......but the Trojans didn't have this game won until virtually the final buzzer.

Another Portsmouth/Wheelersburg classic tournament game........one that will be remembered for a long time.

PROUD OF OUR TROJANS!!

You say that, but you don't even know who threw the first stone!! 14U is not a Portsmouth poster! So throw cast your "bitter" stone in the direction it belongs! All 3 of our "transfers" are LITERALLY "from Portsmouth!" I guess it was so nice, they had to be Trojans twice! With that being said, congrats the da Burg for a hard fought effort. I honestly was hoping we would be able to put the game away in the 3rd quarter but like the true warriors that the Pirates proved to be, they weren't going out without a fight. Proud of both teams effort! Go Trojans

PHS won and advanced, period. Some people don’t like the way we play. Some don’t like our how emotional we are. Some don’t like that some boys are transfers. Some think were cocky. Some think bad calls, or no calls benefited the Trojans. None of it matters, because we are proud of our Trojans, and what they have accomplished and nothing any of us say on hear can change that. Win and advance one game at a time.
Someone commented on the Trojan fans, I personally thought we had a great crowd, and were very loud. Our student section was also huge, and did a great job as well. Burgs student section wasn’t as big but was very good also, and had some very inventive chants, that even made me lol.
Also congrats to Burg on a great year, and best of luck to your seniors. I have really enjoyed watching this group the past 4 years play against my Trojans and watching them in the playoffs, during football. Well with the exception of that one butt kicking they laid on us on the football field. lol

yeah but he now lives in da burg, and has even been seen wearing Burg apparel,so he is one of the "transfers" you all got .

Just because he graduated from Portsmouth does no mean he supports the Trojans, have you seen him posting on the Portsmouth threads?
