I was in myrtle beach this weekend so I missed the game, I was getting spotty service so my updates were sporadic at best.
Great season Chesapeake, you ran into a buzz saw tonight. Very proud of the effort you have given all season.
Congrats to the Trojans, truly deserving.

Outstanding game, start to finish. This was the first time I have watched these two teams this season. Bendolph is a tremendous player. I do tend to agree with some other posters from a few pages back with the statement that the peake coach was waaaay to stubborn. There was not a player on their roster who could contain Bendolph off the bounce. Couple that with the fact that I think PHS hit maybe three jump shots the entire game and I think at some point you have to play zone, or atleast stop picking up full court and getting beat to the rim over and over and over. I am not convinced that the better team won that ball game as an outside observer. Question for peake fans, does #23 typically play a lot? He killed chessy for the majority of the game on both ends of the floor then out of nowhere in the 4th quarter he makes a few great defensive plays and then hits two HUGE threes and 2 even bigger free throws. Up to that point my buddy and I were questioning why he was on the floor. I personally felt Chessy should have taken advantage of their advantage in the post with #55 and McMasters (I didn't realize how good this kid was). After the PHS second big fouled out early in the fourth they stopped attacking the post. Either way, both of these teams are tremendous and worth making the drive to athens. Good luck to PHS this week in CBUS.

VERY PROUD OF OUR TROJAN PLAYERS AND COACHES!!!.......AND I WANT TO COMMEND THE CHESPEAKE PANTHERS AND THEIR COACHES FOR A FANTASTIC SEASON!!
The Panthers were a VERY TOUGH team, and it took a great game by the Trojans to win!!
On to Columbus for our Trojans.........bring your best game to the Schott!!.........16 wins in a row now!!!

Could not agree with your post more. We had no answer for Bendolph up top and made relatively few adjustments at half. And when the big kid fouled out with 6:00 left in the fourth, I was sure we were going to pound the paint. Nope. As far as #23 goes, he has been a contributor all year, but he had a tough tough night until late in the game. We needed Noble in there more on the defensive end for sure.newlex/sheridan wrote:Outstanding game, start to finish. This was the first time I have watched these two teams this season. Portsmouth played like a team on a mission and deserved to win. Truly a great game.

And I was one of those sure of a big win for the 'Peake. Its "All you can eat crow buffet" for me now. Portsmouth was indeed a much different team that what I saw against Fairland and Wheelersburg. I honestly think Portsmouth has a shot in the Schott. Though, it will be a bitter pill if you guys come home with OUR trophy!portsmouth_trojan59 wrote:I'm so proud to be apart of this journey ! I'm not going to bash Peake but the 25 point predictions and we dnt play as a team and this and that ect....you got your answer tonight. Congrats to Peake on a good season.....STATE BOUND WE ARE 1
Just kidding, of course. Good luck at State!
Whew, this crow could definitely use more salt.
