Most of the games/standings have been updated after Tuesday's games on trivalleyconference.com.

By the looks of things: the TVC-Hocking could get pretty murky - and - quick. Belpre knockes off Trimble, who many thought could win the league this year ... Southern defeats Fed Hock 2-0 (both teams should be solid this season) ... and then you have Wahama (4-0) ... and of course the defending Hocking champs Eastern, who beat down South Gallia 17-1 Tuesday.

That is a darn good start - the Warriors are usually very good in baseball.

About Trimble: They should be a pretty good team this year - Chesser is one of the better baseball players you will see in 2011 (In either the Ohio or Hocking Divisions.)

BTW ... All games, results, standings & team pages have been updated after Monday's games!

http://trivalleyconference.com/
Meigs crushed the ball the first 2 innings. After that they were fairly silent. Meigs pitched their ace all 7 innings (why would you do that with temps in the low 40s of a meaningless game?) Warren's ace only pitched the 7th. Meigs played a very solid game and should have a good season.
I have no dog in this fight but - I'm just guessing but I would say because Meigs only has 3 weekday games this week. Good chance one of those games could be a rain out. Throwing your ace on Monday allows you to bring him back Saturday vs Marietta. Warren is the best team on Meigs schedule this week. Seems pretty obvious to me. If it was so cold, why did Warren throw their ace in the 7th of a "meaningless" game?

Good Luck to both teams....

Alexander starts off 2-0. They beat Marietta 8-7, and beat Jackson last night 10-8. Two good wins for the Spartans.

The Alexander @ Athens match-up Thursday could be a fairly big game this early in the season ... I noticed a lot of the players for the Spartans who didn't play basketball are out on the diamond this spring, which could make them a bit of a sleeper in the Ohio Division.

(BTW) - I have almost all of the games updated on the TVC web site - except Waterford vs Frontier. If anyone knows anything about the Wildcats, I would appreciate a score or some info on the 'Cats.

Thx

Ya thats a good point... There is no such thing as a "Meaningless" game.... the game is on the schedule for a reason. There are two reasons i can see meigs throwing their ace all game. One is that you want to get off to a great start in the season opener and when the ace is throwing good, it gets his confidence up and will carry over to the next game. Also when tourny time comes around and your trying to get a high seed.. Those wins against the higher divisions look good. Good luck to Both teams.

Looking at the weather for next week it looks like teams may not play until Friday if it doesn't change. Rain Monday and then heavy on Tuesday and storms in the morning on Wednesday. Goo ole spring and April showers.

with the weather forcast being what it is, it is a shame that games were not played last night. Alexander spent most of the day getting their fields ready and the Bulldogs called at 2:00 and said it was too cold that they were not coming. We already played twice on colder days than yesterday. It may have had alittle more to do with the alternative school than the weather.
