Alex did travel to Amanda yesterday. They lost the first game, The second had just started when our second game finished, so I'm not sure how it finished. You gotta love those hour and ten minute softball games. Let me tell you it was cold. Sleeting sideways most of the day. Hopefully we can get some games in this week, but the weather forcast doesn't look good.

Highandtight,
All of our players were eligible to play on Thursday. Better check with your "source" again. Our athletic director called and told me the game was called off right after I talked with Josh and told him we were coming even though I thought it was too cold. Maybe I'm getting too old to handle the cold, but I think we sometimes take unneccesary risks with our players arms. Every coach has to make those decisions and live with them. My athletic director took that decision away from me and I agreed with him. If you want to believe we're afraid to play your team, that is your call, not mine. I doubt either team needs any extra motivation to play that game. My players were very upset that they didn't get to play that night. Sometimes adults make decisions based on what's they think is in the players best interest. You are certainly entitled to your opinion, I just don't agree with it. I will always try to do what is best for my players.

Speaking of the cold...

I believe that in North Carolina they have a statewide rule that the temperature has to be at or above 42 degrees to play the game. That is for both baseball and softball.

They have no such temperature rule for football.

I bet that was one heck of a game Friday ... both teams seem to be pretty solid this year.
