Good luck Buckeyes this year! i hope the spread offense works out .. lacking size and having a smaller line i hear a lot of talk about this years team going to spread. Most of our non league games are going to be a great challenge as well as some of our league teams . IF ny does not take the tvc this will be the bulldogs year but goodluck to all the tvc teams... go bucks

NY is going to the Spread? Isn't that an oxymoron? NY has been power run since I can remember.

It comes down to three teams, in my opinion: Athens, Nelsonville and Wellston. Last season Athens drubbed Wellston and lost a close one to NY while NY stopped a late 4th comeback from Wellston. Alexander could play the role of spoiler. This conference is a lot closer than the trash talk in the forum:

2010:
Nelsonville 28 - 21 Wellston
Alexander 17 - 14 Wellston
Athens 33 - 27 Meigs
Athens 27 - 28 Alexander
Athens 27 - 28 Nelsonville
Alexander 28 - 20 Vinton County

Some very close league games with the top four teams involved.

Prediction: Athens
It's going to come down to Athens and Nelsonville (like it will most years in all likelihood). As Athens continues to improve their size advantage will become an issue for the majority of the league which is why I was not a fan of their inclusion to the TVC. TVC is a small division conference and Athens isn't small. But that's another argument. I don't think Osbourne will be as big of a loss for Wellston as most think, especially with Hutch being in his second season with the kids. They will be a factor - either in the race for the title or potentially being that one extra loss for one of the contenders.

I think you will be suprised about the size this year. I know of at least 5 kids acrossed that line that will be 260 and up. The Jr. class has great size. as far as the spread, They have been in the i pro and single set backfield for the last 7 years. They run power off tackle but have been out of the spread.

And to the post above. Nelsonville 28- Athens 27

First of all, Athens finished mid pack in the Ohio last season, as they did every year excepting 09. That is what they will do most years. For one thing, someones' hind side puckers up when he sees the Buckeyes on the other sideline across the field. He has proven that time and again. Nelsonville will win the Ohio again, for the umpteenth time, no matter if they run the spread or whatever. TVC Ohio teams fear the Orange and Brown, and with good reason.

I too was wondering why he thought the NY line was going to be smaller...They wont be 260 pounders, but they will all be over 200 and tall and athletic. Ny returns Their Center, 1 tackle , and 2 guards that started and or rotated in last year. TE-WR is 6-5 and much bigger than last year. TB is bigger. QB is Bigger. So from the offense, NY lost Their FB, 1 T, 1 G, And their HB.
On defense. They return 1 DT. 2 DE. Both OL. 1 S, 1 CB. It will be a typical NY D. Fast and Hard hitting.
I see NY winning the TVC Ohio , with Athens Coming in 2nd. Wellston 3rd and the rest of the teams will have trouble winning very many games.

River Valley isn't in the TVC Ohio yet. They won't join until I believe the 2013-2014 season.

why are you hating on Wellston? And, by the way if any other school needed help from ESPN it's Trimble. I've been to your stadium what a dump. GEESH! LOL!

G.W.A. wrote:agree, agree, agree. Its fun to watch when its all you got. N.Y. or Athens Will prolly win it. Which athens should dominate it every year. N.Y. cant compete with playoff teams there size but they whip up on league teams bigger than them. So yes its true. VERY WEAK league.
I agree with every sentence in the paragraph (but wish it wasn't so).

And you should worry about coming up with an excuse other than the one that your numbers are dropping and you will be D-5 soon.

Stadiums??? Yes Wellston surely is the class of the Ohio Division when it comes to stadiums. Hey win three or four league titles before you start running your jibs.

Where is the N-Y @ Ready game being played on 9/16 ? They don't have a home field and most of their home games are scheduled at Franklin Heights (about 2 blocks away) when Heights has away games. That friday Heights plays at Delaware so it'll probably be there but I just wanted to make sure.
