I predict Lancers will beat them down again. Lancers will go 6-4 with a new coach. Belpre will prolly beat the two southerns to go 2-8.

Beat them down "Again". When did you beat them down.Belpre won both games last year 58-50 and 45-44. 2-8?,They play 20 games in basketball.

I'm saying Belpre will go 10-10, an improvement from last year. Thornhill will have them playing hard and they have some talent returning in Drew Nestor, Ryan Leasure, Bryce Pittenger, Jake Ullman, Steve Francis (if hes out there), and also Dakota Hoffman will be back on the court this year.

10-10? I don't think so. It's ok to be a little optimistic, but no. I would predict that with theyre schedule they will win 5-6 games. First year coach, there will be the teams up and down, and hopefully he can have them playing well before tournaments.

They have a few talented incoming freshman including Michael Hall that was one of the better players I coached against on the 8th grade AAU circuit this year. He should be able to contribute to the varsity after his freshman year if not sooner.

Michael Hall transferred to Warren he was on their summer league team this year. Belpre should be ready for some rough years ahead.

Yeah, that is correct amazinghocks. Hall is a Warren Warrior. I think people will be impressed with Coach Thornhill at the helm though. He is a high energy guy who is passionate about the game of basketball. From everything I have seen, the right person will be walking the sidelines for them. It will not be easy with a lack of talent, but I think they will open some eyes this season.

I guess I am confused about all this LACK OF TALENT that Belpre will have this year. What you really need to say is that this years team won't have guys worried about indvidual numbers, who will play with passion and wants to win. Belpre always has talent, it's up to the coach to make that talent come together and make a team. Probably the best group of talent came thru Belpre a few years ago, didn't play as a team and was mediocre, Coach Thornhill will have these ballers ready to get after it. As for predictions, only one, Belpre will beat Warren at home this year.

I'm highly doubting that. Your lack of common sense is scary.

Sorry JustLookin... I have to agree with 3 for me on this one ... That is a very tall order ... Not saying it can't/won't happen, but competing in games comes before winning games.

I guess setting goals and trying to beat your rival must not mean anything, maybe they should not have a Belpre boys basketball team, let's have a corn hole team, doesn't take alot of talent and skill for that. It might be time to burn my copy of HOOSIERS!!!!!! :122245

I don't believe my previous statement said anything about not having goals. Goals are great and that is the first step. Is it a lofty goal to top Warren? Sure. Can it be done? Sure. I hope it is a great game to renew some of the rivalry hype. I just think Belpre has a lot to prove considering they have a lot of young players and a new system to learn. As for the talent, I agree that there is talent, but there isn't anyone over there that is going to set the world on fire. I just think they'll have a long road of improvement ahead of them. And I do hope that they begin to win soon, but reality will probably see them compete a little be.tter, yet still fall short. Again, this is just my opinion (we all have our own). But I do think Coach Thornhill will get results from year one. He has the energy, passion, and drive that it takes to get something going.

Looks like Michael won't be playing for Warren or Belpre,I understand that he is moving back to Kentucky.A big loss for both schools as he has the potential to be a very good player.Belpre has not suffered from a lack of playing talent for the past four years but has definetly had a lack of coaching talent. They have some players coming back who have improved quite a bit and may surprise a lot of people next year. i think Jordan will do a fine job of getting the best out of these kids.
