Warren searching for new coach

Post by turfcat »

Aaron Schetter has stepped down as coach of the Warriors and they are planning to search for a new coach soon. Currently there are no teaching positions open.

Somebody better talk sweet to SANTINI :-D
Know what I mean????? Daughter is in college, retired to watch her in her HS sports.
Heard that nothing would be done until after voting in May.....Hummmmm.

Wish Schetter luck in his future endevours. Doesn't he have a daughter coming to the HS soon and isn't she a ballplayer?

With no current teaching positions open the search will be limited to current district staff or a coach who teaches in another district like Schetter, or a non teaching coach/community member? Candidate pool might be on the light side not saying there won't be some quality apply but quantity will suffer.

I do think there are cuts planned that the public is unaware of, or will like. The cuts, if necessary, will run long and deep. With regard to athletics, don't assume $100 per sport will make up the $1.8 million dollar hole. They may cut some programs.

56 votes short, with 109 provisional and @ 50 absentee that could be in transit. Would not be suprised to see wrestling go bye bye.
Hope the count goes differently.

Just heard that after the absentee ballot count, Bond issue is down to 29 votes of passing. Provisional votes are over 100 and have to be certified(?) before counted. So there is still an outside margin of hope for the KIDS. 42% is much better than (When state comes in and takes over the buildings situation) 100% on taxes.

Just read in the paper that the Warren Board of education approved a new girls basketball coach and Neil Bragg as the new Wrestling coach, at last nights meeting.

 Congrats to Coach Bragg, good luck with the team, hope you get the numbers and bring the program back.

Welcome aboard coach Brague! Your job will be a little tougher with the budget situation and pay to play. But don't hesitate to reach out to the Warren wrestling alumni for anything. Be it Volunteer assistants, fundraising, recruiting the district or just moral support. Don't allow the negative influences that have hounded the program recently to get involved.

It will be vital for you to make strong connections with the wrestlers and coaches from the entry level up. With your current position at BV that should help with the communication part of it although it would be better if you were at the high school level. Wrestling's "non revenue production" status is a the main reason there hasn't been a coach that has taught at the high school since the late 1970s. And that was because the football coach also coached wrestling.

Good luck

Heard that Coach Bragg and the new Warriors will start preseason conditioning next Tuesday. Glad he can finally get started. Wish good things for the Warriors and the SEAOL will be at Warren this year.

Warren sent quite a few wrestlers to Washington C.H. this weekend all looked pretty tough.

That is good news. Was not able to come over a watch because my daughter was running in the XC Regional in Pickerington. I'll look everyone up in the next couple of days and talk to them about it. They were definitely excited about going over. Glad they had a good day.
