South Point @ Coal Grove or it may be moved to SP if CG can't get the field ready

Wheelersburg beats northwest 4-2. Solid pitching, great defense up the middle by Bailey and Barbarits! Staley and Jenkins played the corners well. Big hits by Jenkins, both Blairs and Spradlin. with the rest of the line up contributing as well. Great team effort all around! Keep it up lady pirates!

Warren Local 8
Jackson 3

Jackson played a great game with the exception of the bottom of the 4th inning. The Lady Warriors scored all 8 of their runs in that inning.

Jackson had 6 errors to lead to those 8 runs in 1 inning.

Warren has a very good all-around team.

I thought it would be a good game between ND and Clay
But not 10 to 0
In my honest opinion I didn't think Notre Dame could
Beat the panthers.
Anyone have the story on this game?

To put it in it's simplest form, Notre Dame came to hit the ball, and Clay didn't put the bat squarely on the ball the entire game. Clay has gradually got into a slump as a team but has had enough talent to mercy rule just about everybody they've played. There should have been some red flags when they beat a team by 10 runs on 3 hits. I think there was a lot of hype going into this game and Clay psyched themselves out but N.D. kept there confidence at the plate and smacked the ball around. While watching field warmups I commented to someone that the team who could keep the ball in the outfield the most would win the game. It was pretty much a swamp. That proved to be right. I think anyone who knows these two teams can tell you that this score did not reflect how close Clay and N.D. are in talent. I was very perplexed at how out of character Clay was at the plate. While I'll say that N.D. has got a good pitcher, she was not an overpowering thrower. There was no excuse for Clay's lack of hitting. They are capable of so much more than what they showed today. Congradulations to Notre Dame's ball team for their victory today. They earned it fair and square

thanks pine rider, classy post . I agree the two teams are much much closer than tonights game and the next time around will be a nail biter. Would be interesting to see what would have happened if Clay plated a couple runs when they had the chance . Clay had bases loaded with 1 down and no score and lined hard to 2nd base. If that ball is a few feet one way or the other Clay takes a 2 run lead. Then much more pressure is on the ND offense, so much easier to play even or ahead than it is to play behind. could have been a different game good luck, see you later this month MD
