I MISS IRONTON'S ENOURMOUS AMERICAN FLAG

what can we do to quickly get one put back up. that has been a staple at ironton's football stadium as long as i can remember. is the fixtures on the pole bad, do we not have a flag or what. i've heard so many references to the flag in the past, it's a shame to not see it. why not release enough money from the stadium turf fund to purchase the flag. which i consider to be an upgrade of the stadium.

i don't understand that ironman92, some people won't like you for the way you part your hair, or the fact you still have hair. either way IT IS THE TRUE FABRIC OF OUR LIVES. it's the very reason i joined the army out of high school. i had no idea that i would blow out my acl again, and find out i was going blind. i just wanted to do my part. however abbreviated my stay was there. i joined on my own, for that flag.

It's an old joke from back when Alumni Stadium was opened and an idiot Vinton County fan said it was grandeur. He was just way too bothered by our flagpole and that it was way too big and cost too much.

We do have one of those gigantic flags at a local business behind our Walmart.....10X as big as the one at our stadium.

I hope it has nothing to do with political correctness. It seems there is an element today that does not like the American flag and what it has stood for. Its too bad but many of that ilk are the ones that determine what is politically correct.
If it has to do with costs, someone start a fund to purchase a new one, I will contribute.

i'n not sure in feet, but it was huge, and very beautiful. i'm thinking an organization gave it to the tigers, vfw, amvets, moose , something like that. but i talked to alot of people that miss it. thought they'd speak up here.
