I would bite but I don't know much about Meigs. I think they have a pretty good team....but not sure.

Re: DIV. II Sectional, How do they fair? (Records & Seeding)
They continue the unfairness of allowing Unioto to play on their home field in the district semis and finals if they make it that far, which if it goes as the seedings suggest, it will be Warren at Unioto on 5/17, and Gallia at Unioto on 5/20. Unfair, unfair, unfair! At least, if they follow the bracket alignment, Unioto would be the strategical visiting team in the finals.

Dont underestimate Logan Elm they are really good and should make it to the district final

The only upset that I can see as being a "good bet" would be Sheridan over McClain. Sheridan plays in a nasty league with some big dogs and should be primed and ready. The drive to Greenfield may do them in though...lol
Re: DIV. II Sectional, How do they fair? (Records & Seeding)
I don't know if they've ever won the district on their own field. I'm just saying it is patently unfair to give them that opportunity, and no one else. It's like soccer and Tri-Valley often being set-up to win the district on their home field in Dresden.gahs4ever wrote:When was the last time Unioto won a district on their own field?
But you are right, if you want to give a DII school the right to host a district, it should be DIII or IV IMO
Re: DIV. II Sectional, How do they fair? (Records & Seeding)
Also, what happened to the SE district getting two D2 softball teams to the regionals like they did last year? I thought enrollment and tourney set-ups were locked in for two years at a time, but it looks like they've changed and split up Bucyrus into two district tourneys and taken a Pickerington district away from there and moved it to be in the Pickerington regional, and knocked the SE down from two to one teams to get to the Pickerington regional. Where is the fairness there? That makes the SE team come from a field of 18 teams. The largest field any regional achieving team came from last year was just 14! It also unfairly gives the two Pickerington district winners to both be able to make it to state together.
Re: DIV. II Sectional, How do they fair? (Records & Seeding)
If it's like D4 boys basketball it is 1 one year and 2 the next year and it keeps rotating.
Re: DIV. II Sectional, How do they fair? (Records & Seeding)
How come they never rotate D2 girls basketball? They seem to always have 19-20 teams.
Re: DIV. II Sectional, How do they fair? (Records & Seeding)
There was a tie in who would get an extra regional spot when they did the last enrollment adjustment, so the SE was given two last year and one this year, with the other going to the Bucyrus District, as noted above.
This should be an interesting tournament. There are going to be some good sectional title games.

Re: DIV. II Sectional, How do they fair? (Records & Seeding)
I do agree it makes it harder with 18-19 teams getting only one spot to regionals. It's usually the same in D2 basketball, too. We need a couple of more D2 schools to get the two spots.

How can it be a tie if Bucyrus had 14 teams and Chillicothe had 18?bman wrote:There was a tie in who would get an extra regional spot when they did the last enrollment adjustment, so the SE was given two last year and one this year, with the other going to the Bucyrus District, as noted above.

Re: DIV. II Sectional, How do they fair? (Records & Seeding)
That is correct, but unlike last year just one of those four teams gets to the regional, rather than like last year when two of them went to regional.gahs4ever wrote:Im still confused. On the DII district on the OHSAA website, they list both a north and a south sectional. So are there still two #1 seeds like last year and will 2 seeds come out of the south and 2 out of the north to form the district?
Re: DIV. II Sectional, How do they fair? (Records & Seeding)
It was probably a northern Ohio district, probably NW district getting the extra spot since one more is going to the Bucyrus regional.
But that was the reason, the SE tied with another district for an extra regional spot, so it was split with the SE getting it last year and the other district getting it this year.
