As to this game, if Piketon doesn't rebound better than they did against Eastern then Zane Trace will win by 10+. Beam will have a big game. IF they keep Beam off the the glass and transition, then I say Redstreaks by 5.

Actually Piketon did not press vs Eastern, they elected to just pick Lands up full court, but did not use their normal press and in my opinion cost them the game in the long run. I'm not one to second guess Coach L. but he shouldve played the way they've been playing all year. Eastern played 6 players for the most part, Piketon played 9 or 10, and never pressed like they've done for the past ..what? 8 seasons. Coach L. was not on his game. I hope he will be tonight...or get the same result.

Wow Jimmy, dont give Eastern credit or anything for the win. Eastern took Piketon out of their press. It didnt work on them like it did on my Western team. Eastern took it to them, and Piketon just didnt handle the pressure well. Saying Lisath wasnt on his game is weak. How could you not be up for the Holiday Classic. Eastern was the better team that night. ZT wins by 5 if Beam plays well. If not Piketon by 6. Good luck to both teams the rest of the way....

ou22 , Piketon tried to press in the first half of the ball game that's when Eastern went on a run going from a 11-11 tie to a 22-16 lead then Piketon pulled off the press and in turn went on a 8-0 run by switching up there deffense to a zone stopping Lands and Lightles dribble penatration. Either way this could be an awsome game good luck to the Streaks!

Yes, Eastern played a great game and hit some big shots when they needed to...no doubt in my mind the Streaks got outplayed and coached. JMO

Maybe I don't read enough Piketon threads, but this is the first time I have heard a Piketon fan talking about Liseth being out coached!

... with so much on the line SVC wise with the outcome of tonights contest BOTH teams/all players/coaches should be at the top of their games - if they aren't? it will be the difference between putting a "W" or an "L" on their handy dandy pocket schedules ... I'm psyched, ready to see 2 Elite 8 teams go at it for 32 minutes (or more) ... my napkins are ready to be filled up with stats/imo's on this one - looking forward to doing a pfloyd game recap/rundown after this one is in the books tonight ...

Piketon 71
Zane Trace 66 OT

... SVC Battle of heavy weights in Kinnikinnick tonight ended with the Red Streaks upper classmen experience/composure outlasting the young gun backcourt of Coach Alley's Pioneers 71-66 in OT ... both teams showed quarters of excellent basketball at both ends of the floor - showing the ability to get to the rim while opening the floor with long range threes but as in most sporting events experience DOES matter as Piketons senior leadership of Isaac Brabson/Zach Farmer/Colten Williams/Craigen Moore brought PHS back from a 36-47 4th quarter deficit ...combining for 20 of the Red streaks 23 4th quarter points to tie the game at 58-58 after regulation ... during the 4th quarter offensive run by Piketon the Zane Trace inexperience on the perimeter helped fuel the PHS comeback by turning the ball over 7 times in the quarter - inexperience showed itself in ZT's lack of patience/TOs/inability to get the ball to the Big Man in the Middle - Wes Beam ... OT was all Piketon as the Red Streaks outscored the Pioneers 13-8 ... Piketon 71 Zane Trace 66 OT final ...

Pfloyd Napkin Stats - Zane Trace

Scoring : Pierce Mowery 10, Wes Beam 21, Conner Smith 14, Eric Hutton 4, Tyler Hinty 11,Nate Mettler 2, Trey Rittenhouse 4
3 Pointers : 3/16 ... Mowery 2, Hinty 1
FT's : 9/16
TO's : 16 ... 7 TOs in the 4th quarter fueled the PHS comeback ... all were forced TOs either on the perimeter vs PHS pressure or forcing poor entry passes into the post ...

... ZT had one of the best quarters of the season in staking themselves to the 47-36 lead - defensively ZT forced 6 PHS TOs holding Piketon to 1 fg in the quarter while outscoring PHS 24-5 ... loss of composure on the perimeter in the 4th turned this one around along with 5/10 FT shooting in the 4th by the Pioneers ... ZT has some quality players in Conner Smith/Tyler Hinty/ Wes Beam ...Beam IS MONEY when he gets touches - in the decisive 4th quarter Beam had 1 touch - not near enough for the best big man on the court in most of the games he will play this season ...

Pfloyd Napkin Stats - Piketon

Scoring : Isaac Brabson 10, Craigen Moore 9, Zach Farmer 20, Jeremy Farmer 4, Wyatt Brewster 11, Aaron Southworth 6, Colten Williams 11
3 pointers : 5/16 ... Brabson 1, Zach Farmer 3, Brewster 1
FT's : 11/22
TOs : 12 ... 6 TOs in the 3rd quarter helped ZT jump out to the 47-36 lead at the end of three

... Piketon has the upper classmen experience to keep themselves in games and get themselves back into games - it showed tonight as PHS weathered the ZT 3rd quarter scoring onslaught of 24 points/shook off the 6 TOs that held their own scoring to but 1 fg in the same quarter ... senior experience/composure/patience picked up the "W" tonight vs a very game Zane Trace squad ... Piketon goes up against an equally senior laden team in Vinton County Saturday night at the Chillicothe OU branch ... should be an interesting matchup ...

Pinkfloyd - I love you posts. Napkin stats may be off a little. I am pretty sure Craigen Moore ended up with about 16 points.

Big bounce back win for My Streaks on the road. We make annual pilgrimage to OUC to take on VC. Gotta put that one behind us and be ready for the Vikings. Will be a war as it always is in this one. Will be a tournament type atmosphere.

Yeah, make sure that is fixed! lol I am more concerned with 11/22 on free throws! That little facet of the game has cost them against Eastern, and almost against Southeastern. 6 turnovers in the 3rd quarter while only scoring 1 fg. Those stats are just a little more important in winning games, not worrying about individual scoring@#$#@##~!
