Shenandoah defeats Fort Frye to win OVAC championship

the Zeps beat the Cadets 5-3 at a nuetral site on saturday. Brandon Starr was the winning pitcher for the zeps and James Luyster finished the game . Josh Spindler was the losing picter for the cadets . it was a hard faught game but the zeps prevailed as the better team . although after the game a brawl broke out between the players, and from what i seen and heard from players on the field a fort frye player initiated the slug fest by punching the zeps pitcher Starr . i think this shows a lack of sportsmanship and player control on the shoulders of fort frye's coaching staff . i personally expected more class from the perennial power house that is fort frye ...... .maybe the tides are turning in the PVC ?

The Zeps really have the complete team this year.. probably one of the best teams shenandoah has had here in a while.. they have solid bats, great depth in pitching along with a few aces at that.. great performance by them in the ovac ship game as expected.. the zeps have a 10-3 record this year after dropping one to barnesville last nite where they had to pitch there ace all 7 innings just to keep up with the zeps.. fort frye took a loss to caldwell which puts the zeps in first for the pvc so it looks like the zeps are going to win it this year outright.. about the fight really the spindler kid just got out of control after being a sore loser.. it looks like he can talk the talk but cant walk the walk

I'm pretty sure these 2 will play again in the tourney if Fort Frye gets passed Barnesville.Fort Frye pitched Spindler probably the teams 4th starter behind Fryman,Eddy and Lang.

Eddy actually pitched the whole game in this one.. newspaper had a misprint.. eddy has pitched all 7 innings both times they have played the zeps.. the zeps have thrown starr both times as well.. i see the zeps and ff getting pass both their 1st sectional games this one could be an instant classic if it lives up to the hype

Fort Frye beat Barnesville 2-0.Union Local knocked off Shenandoah 5-3.Fort Frye will play UL next.

surprising. shenandoah beat UL in a scrimage this spring , guess that wasnt much of an indicator . i didnt think the zeps would go out this soon , i was really looking forward to that OVAC championship rematch, and i would say thats what the players did and over looked the jets .

Fort Frye got some revenge for the PVC tonight by beating Union Local (Buckeye Eight Conf.) score 7-0.

Up next for the Cadets is W. Lafayette Ridgewood.
