Re: PVC Pre-season Talk
if fort frye cant win 6 games with that pathetic schedule they might as well get out of the pvc.. and 3 for me if you think caldwell will go 7-3 this year you might as well wake up from that fairy tale bc those 3 losses are for sure and i'm gonna say they will have a rough time with barnesville and shenandoah.. caldwell picked a bad year to up their schedule with losing as much as they are
Re: PVC Pre-season Talk
I didn't say that they were going to blow Shenendoah or Barnesville out or anything of that matter. I just think they will pull out the wins. I don't feel Shenendoah will beat them, they have 1 player, and an average QB. Realistically, Barnesville has a very good chance at beating them, and probably should. But wasn't Barnesville supposed to beat them for the past 2 years?

Frontier is probably a year away.Jefferson is a great athlete and the spread fits him well.

Shenandoah also has the Rossiter boys coming up.I believe Blake is a JR QB/WR/S and Aaron is a freshman QB/WR.

I know I don't know a lot about them, but I wouldn't consider the Harrison Central game are for sure loss. From what i've read on another site, they've got a pretty good RB returning, but I believe their starting QB graduated and most on that site seem to think that they really lack good line play. Most have Harrison Central pegged as finishing in the bottom of the Buckeye 8 in their predictions and i'm just guessing they know more about them than most other people since they see them regularly. Plus it's a home game for Caldwell, and the bus ride for Harrison Central isn't exactly short, which can play a factor.jayhawkpimp021 wrote:if fort frye cant win 6 games with that pathetic schedule they might as well get out of the pvc.. and 3 for me if you think caldwell will go 7-3 this year you might as well wake up from that fairy tale bc those 3 losses are for sure and i'm gonna say they will have a rough time with barnesville and shenandoah.. caldwell picked a bad year to up their schedule with losing as much as they are

Re: PVC Pre-season Talk
The league has been the same the last couple seasons.Monroe Central out coaches everyone one week they are a running team and then the next week they are passing for 250.I think Shenandoah can reach playoffs if they can win 7 in region 17.Fort Frye will probably need 8 or 9 with that weak schedule.Caldwell is a lock in 23.Frontier is playing to hard of schedule for a D6 team Oak Glen and Alex should not be on the schedule.River lacks speed and size.I do hear Caldwell is getting better at QB.Trail could beat BSJ but that's it.

Re: PVC Pre-season Talk
7 wins for Shenandoah would be outstanding for them, but I don't see it happening, as I have them pegged with 3 pretty sure losses in Martins Ferry, Shadyside, and Monroe Central. Then you still have tough games against Barnesville, FF, and Caldwell. Like I said though, 7 wins would be great for them. And I'm not so quick to consider Caldwell a lock for the playoffs. Just don't want to be to optimistic. They should be able to make the playoffs, but with so many unknowns, I can't consider them a lock yet.EasternDspy wrote:The league has been the same the last couple seasons.Monroe Central out coaches everyone one week they are a running team and then the next week they are passing for 250.I think Shenandoah can reach playoffs if they can win 7 in region 17.Fort Frye will probably need 8 or 9 with that weak schedule.Caldwell is a lock in 23.Frontier is playing to hard of schedule for a D6 team Oak Glen and Alex should not be on the schedule.River lacks speed and size.I do hear Caldwell is getting better at QB.Trail could beat BSJ but that's it.

Re: PVC Pre-season Talk
Yeah I'm pretty sure Shadyside lost a good bit, but they haven't had a losing season in like 10 years. Shadyside beat Shenandoah by the tune of 56-6 last year, and that was a home game for the Zeps. I don't think losing a few players is going to reverse that to much. Seems as though Shadyside always reloads.
Re: PVC Pre-season Talk
Shadyside just reloads. They've got a great program. They were moved from R23 to 21. They are still a legit playoff team, but not sure they are state level quality this year. Shenandoah will be pushed to get a win in Shadyside.
Caldwell would probably be safe at 6-4. I'm not sure Harrison Central even will provide many points if Caldwell does beat them. Nobody on other sites are talking highly of them.

Re: PVC Pre-season Talk
Way down for the D6 state runner-up's is probably still good enough to beat a team like Shenandoah. Not saying that it's impossible for them, but I wouldn't be putting any money on it.
Re: PVC Pre-season Talk
Like someone said, they'd have to make up 50 pts from last year. Will Shenandoah be that much better, or Shadyside that much worse? Who knows. Plus if it's in Shadyside your already down going in. Not because of the refs... thats just a tough place to play.
Also, they were saying the same thing on OVathletics last year about Shadyside through their scrimmages... about how terrible their QBs were looking etc.. so take them for a grain of salt over there. They lost a lot of senior leadership, but I also read where they had at least one transfer coming in from Bellaire. So who knows. I'm sure they're still a playoff quality team, but probably not a state level team.

Re: PVC Pre-season Talk
This is Shenandoahs last time to be good for awhile.A lot of Sr lineman and skills guys.I think Shenandoah will susprise people.
Re: PVC Pre-season Talk
Everyone jumping on the Caldwell bandwagon will jumping off after week 3. Don't see playoffs with this group. 4-6 at best. Lot of grumbling going on in Caldwell already and the season hasn't even started yet. Lot of coaching contact going on with QB's since early May, which we all know isn't allowed, and they still haven't got any idea who it's going to be. For those of you who think they have great wideouts, not sure who you were watching last year other than Morris but ball hit hands and was then on the ground a lot, they couldn't catch a cold. Long year in Caldwell, wouldn't be shocked by a 3-7 season.
Re: PVC Pre-season Talk
Look for Caldwell to be 4-6 or even 3-7. Lot of grumbling going on already and kids talking about not playing. Perkins letting Lori and his mouth run wild already which is not a good thing. Rossiter injury prone, won't finish the season. If Hesson catches the ball the way he shot the ball in basketball season he's in for a long year. Abrams won't even see the field and if he does it won't be much. Of course you have to have a QB to deliver the ball and they are far from knowing who that's going to be. All you Caldwell believers pop your bubbles now and hang on for a long hard ride.
Re: PVC Pre-season Talk
4-6? 3-7? What schedule are you looking at?
Newcomerstown, river, frontier, and buckeye trail are basically all given.
Then you have a fair chance at beating shenendoah and fort frye.
Toss ups will be Barnesville and Harrison Central.
And their definite losses are Monroe and Wheeling Central.
Just with this schedule I see 4-5 loses at the most?
It's probably for Hessons sake that Basketball and Football are two different sports. and I agree that Abrahms won't see much field time if any at all. He couldn't catch a basketball, let alone a football. They will still have receivers in Tyler Danford and Jeremy Border, along with Hesson.
Rossiter will probably get his normal 8 games in before he's hurt.
