cross country invitationals

Post by Flatulence »

Hello all, I am looking to schedule our cross country for this next fall and i need to know when the following meets will be: Jackson Invitational, Alexander Invitational, and Meigs Invitational. If we have any other invitationals in SE Ohio I would like to hear about them, as well. Will Gallia Coaches Corner still be the tuesday after Labor Day? Will the Zane Trace meet be the 2nd Saturday in September?

I have been so focused on track and field I totally forgot about cross country - until now.

I know you don't care for meets prior to Labor Day, but here's a list of meets that might interest you.

Sat Aug 27 Wellston/Marietta/Pickerington North
Sat Sept 3 Warren/Circleville
Sat Sept 10 Zane Trace
Sat Sept 17 Southeastern/Fairland
Thurs Sept 22 Jackson
Sat Sept 24 Lancaster/Rio
Sat Oct 1 Piketon/Pickerington North
Wed Oct 5 Alexander
Sat Oct 8

The last time I talked to Coach Kennedy (about a month ago), I think the date of his meet might be dependent upon when your meet will be. He said if you go back to Saturday the 17th, then he is going to stay with the 1st of October. If not, then he would like to have it on the 17th. However, I don't know how concrete that decision was. You will have to get in touch with him to see what his plans are now.

I would assume Gallia's meet is the Tuesday after Labor Day, but I've not talked to anyone about it.

Thanks, Fraun, for at least giving me the option. However, now I am up in the air. Construction on our football/track facilities, plus the wonderful weather we are having has put everything behind. So as much as I would like to take the 17th date, I am not sure that the course will be ready. The facilities are scheduled to be completed on September 29th, but who knows. The rain has washed out a couple of sections of our course and we hope to get them repaired soon. I will update you all by the end of June (which is coming up quickly) so that you can plan accordingly. But it will be either September 17th or October 1st.

As I said, I will give you the answer by the end of July. haha It looks as though we will not be having our meet at Meigs until October 1. We may move it next year but I am concerned this year that construction on the field, track and stadium will not be completed in time to shoot for an earlier date. I am not positive that it will be done anyway, but we can work around it. So if you are interested in the Meigs Invitational October 1, 2011 give me a call at Meigs Middle School 740-992-3058 or Meigs High School 740-992-2158 and leave a message for me. I will get info to you at your school or email. You can also email me at [email protected]. Sorry for the late notice.
