If ND kicks it around and throws the ball around like they did on Sat I can't imagine the game being close. Howevere if ND plays tight D and keeps the errors to reasonable amount (two or less) I can see this being a tight low scoring game. Honestly I don't think they have seen many teams bring the offensive powerfire we bring. Like 6 different girls have homered . But good pitching USUALLY beats good hitting. Hopefully we get the bats going early and that golden rule doesn't hold up tommorrow.

From the looks/reputation of SF they small ball you alot. Then try to run, steal bases a bunch. play good fundementals , try to beat you 2-1 or 3-1 . We are more like an American league team , 2 walks and a Blast ! Either Way it's been a great season. 1st SOC banner will be flying in the ND gym (hopefully not a co-champ, that is still TBD) MD

ND falls 3-0 to Strasburg Franklin. well played game . strasburg had by far the best pitcher I've seen this season. 60-61 on the gun but big spin and good movement. GREAT control. Could work you in/out down/up. 0-0 into the 4th . They scored on a suicide squeeze to take a 1-0 lead. got a runner on with a basehit , then scored the big blow of the game with a 2 run homer to LF. Got 3 in the 4th. Pauley threw fantastic for ND. gave up the one good shot and that was about all. But once again good pitching beats good hitting. Was told the same kid won the state title game in 09, pitched in the finals in 10' and looks to be on track for another final 4 . Solid team, we kept their bats pretty quiet, but we never mounted much O.......... MD

Fairfield advances to the final 8 with a 1-0 win over Newark Catholic. FF has a very fine soph pitcher.
