Monroe Central vs Columbiana @ Harding Stadium

Post by CN2 »

The word I am hearing is that Columbiana was trying to drop the game. Sour feelings due to expecting to beat the Noles last year at Steubenville with the experience and size they had and MC pretty well man handled them. With the talent MC has this year I expect a 2-3 touchdown victory. The line is said to be a question but Circosta always seems to find people to step in and do the job.

Little late to be dropping the game, it would do more damage to Columbiana by not playing, in terms of post season hopes. Frankly, it would be incredibly stupid to drop the game at this juncture.

OHSAA has the game at Woodsfield this year, not Harding Stadium. You know something that the OHSAA doesn't know?

I love the PVC as much as the next guy but is a 34-28 loss really being "Man Handled"?...Coulmbiana was 5-5 and a middle of the pack team in the PVC new region 17.

The first half MC handed Columbiana their lunch. Then Kinchen got hurt, the D stepped up at the end. If MC wouldve had Kinchen the whole game it would have been real ugly.

Negative on Kinchen being suspended. And haven't heard anything about Leon.

If the Noles put Lafferre at quarterback and let Kinchen and Hogue pound the ball they will wear teams out quick. Barnesville will be the best team on MC's schedule, I don't see them having problems with the other 9 teams. Worst case scenario the Noles end up 9-1. However due to the hatred between MC and Barnesville I see the shoe staying on MC's foot, to much talent.

Why would someone from Canton McKinley transfer to Woodsfield, OH? lol ... Hey we need a beast on the dline so if he's 6'4 280 lbs then welcome Leon.

And yeah, the Columbiana game was weird last year. MC was leading something like 34-9 going into the 4th Q when Kinchen, Hogue, Lafferre and a couple other linemen got hurt. But credit to Columbiana for not giving up. They were 2 yards from pulling an amazing comeback...albeit largely against our second string.

I wouldn't look past Shadyside because they have had MC's number the past half decade. They lost a lot to graduation, but they are deep, well coached, and will get a Bellaire transfer or two. As far as Barnesville goes that will be tough since it is at Barnesville; but if my memory serves Coach C will be going for 300 if MC gets to that game undefeated. I can't see the Noles losing in that scenario. Also, will Magnolia be down this year?

1. An inexperienced D for Shadyside won't be able to keep up with the Kinchen brothers, Hogue, & Lafferre

2. Magnolia is way down.

3. One has to play in the Barnesville vs MC rivalry to truly know what it feels like to be on the field for that game.

Always enjoyed watchin' that Barnesville-MC game over the years and no doubt both schools/fans/players have a genuine dislike for each other.
It'd be nice to see Coach C run the table and get a 300th at Barnesville, but oh brother, would those Shamrocks be sky-high for that one. A must-see for any football fan.

The team won't let Circosta down when it comes to getting #300.

CN2,
Who do we scrimmage this year? I assume our usual scrimmage with Strasburg which I think will be at Strasburg this year. Then who's the second... Bridgeport again?
