Chillicothe

Without a solid QB this team doesn't have a lot of talent with playing time.
The talent is there and it might not show until it is too late.
Could see a 1/9--0/10 season

Gallipolis

Will not score a lot of points.
If the defense can stay health you will see a lot of low scoring games that could go either way.
Could see a 7/3--6/4 season

Jackson

Last years team picked up a lot of breaks.
Teams will play them a lot stronger this year and if the break don't come---
Could see a 5/5 season

Logan

A lot better defense this year.
The offense looks to have been changes to fit the talent.
Could see a 7/3--6/4 season

Portsmouth

Will have a up and down season.
Can beat any SEOAL team on any given night.
Could see a 3/7--5/5 season

Warren

With the best QB in the league it will be fun season if things click
A lot of points put on the board.
Will be a season with the team with the ball last winning.
Could see a 4/6--6/4 season

A team makes at least 90% of the breaks they get. Jackson deserves to have nothing taken away from their championship season a year ago.

I don't even understand this. What breaks did Jackson get?

I think they overcame quite a bit of adversity. They played awful to open the season and lost to Wellston. They rebounded from what was a devastating loss to hammer Waverly and VC before league play started. Then, right out of the gate, they dismantled Logan. They blew out Warren and Portsmouth, won an amazing non-conference game against Ironton, and took care of Marietta. Then they lost their starting QB and best DB to a knee injury while trailing against Chillicothe. The entire team picked up the slack and punched in a late TD, refusing to give away a chance at an outright league title. Finally, with the league title on the line, they hammered a solid GAHS team at Memorial Field before losing in the first round of the playoffs to Eaton.

So, loss to archrival for the first time in two decades. Is that a break?

Losing your QB during the closing stretch of SEOAL play. Break?

Playing a playoff game on the road essentially without Winchester, and losing Klay Arthur to injury in the first half. Another break, right?

They beat Logan by 21, Warren by 35, Portsmouth by 25, Marietta by 23, Chillicothe by 1, and Gallia Academy by 23. With the exception of the Chillicothe game, to be quite honest, they were pretty dominant on their way to an outright title. Looks to me like they didn't need many breaks.

And by the way, if this Jackson team stays healthy, they will NOT go 5-5.

Chilli and Logan are the big unknowns this year. They both could be at the top of the league, or both near the bottom. It depends how they both survive their early schedule.

In Week 1 against Jackson, Osborne played RB on offense and, I believe, S on defense. He may have played LB or S at times during the season.

He'll be playing QB/S at Jackson. Great athlete, great instincts, and plays very hard.

I wouldn't count out Logan ... Last year they had a couple major injuries early in the year. New coach..
Their freshman class of last year were real good. The new coach hasn't had enough time yet, but if I remember, their old coach took a couple years to get it together. Their non league schedule is always brutal.
If they survive that, they may be a force to reckon with....

People sometimes think if a team has a bad year they are done forever and on the other side if they have a good year they will be at the top forever.

Although an amazing game that it was. They did get one break, Irontons best RB didn't play in that game because he was ejected from the game the week before, coincidently by an Official from Jackson lol.
