I've got to go with Eastern/Waterford until someone else beats them.

I92 ... The last time I took you advice (on the Athens by 4 over Fairfield Union) - I lost ... lol ... I think your spreads might be a little too high for these D4 match-ups ... Eastern and Waterford are tough, don't get me wrong, I just don't see easy blow-outs this far in the tourney (district semi-finals).
BTW ... For EASTERN EAGLES info ... http://trivalleyconference.com/Eastern.html

Bulldog....I have nothing invested in these game. Maybe my large spread will fire up Clay and ND and make it tight.
But I'm sticking with what I guessed earlier.

Re: Division IV District Semi-Final (Jackson)
The TVC Hocking has had two outstanding teams, Waterford and Eastern, for several years. SOC I has no team that can compete at the same level. Over the last few years, Eastern and Waterford have been "state quality" (unfortunately for them ... Harvest Prep). Eastern stumbled a little this year (loss to S Gallia) but I expect they will both handle their SOC I match-ups by 20+ and maybe 30+. The differences between the haves and have nots in southern Ohio girls basketball are great. It has nothing to do with the overall quality of the TVC (which, beyond Eastern and Waterford, is not much different from SOC I). I would like to be wrong but I've seen the same in SOC II (Oak Hill) for years.
Re: Division IV District Semi-Final (Jackson)
I will take Waterford by 20 + but Eastern will be a little closer. I'd say about 10. Eastern took easy care of SW while I thought Belpre played Waterford very tough. It was late in the 3rd or early 4th before Waterford pulled away. Waterford was clearly the better team but Belpre showed a lot of heart. Brown got in foul trouble in the 1st half and without her Belpre stayed close. IMO Eastern has a more well rounded team but Waterford has the 2 best players in the District. Again in my opinion the 4 best players in the Hocking were in those 2 games. Brown, Drayer, Flowers & Burdette. If you have a girl that can guard Brown or Drayer and take your chances with the other you can play with Waterford. But you also have to be able to beat their press. Good Luck to these 2 TVC teams remaining.

looked at Eastern's schedule -- I saw they lost to Huntington, is that the same huntington that got crushed by Portsmouth in the d-3 tourney ?

Confused yet? Lol
I'm going to say there is no way Huntington Ross defeated Eastern Meigs
Huntington St Joe maybe....I believe they beat Oak Hill to give you an idea

I dont follow teams in the TVC , I just saw they lost to a ' huntington" but it doesnt say which huntington.
Re: Division IV District Semi-Final (Jackson)
So Eastern Meigs lost to a team that had a 30 game losing streak?
If so, my apologies MD

Eastern Reedsville (that you all call Meigs) lost to Huntington St. Joe from Huntington WV. A private Catholic school that is the 3 time WV single A state champion.

Thank You!
I knew there was just no way.....that 93bulldog was right
Eastern Reedsville must be quite the small area! Has that always been the official name? Eastern Meigs makes more sense....but so does White Oak which I often argue about. I know in high school we always faced Gallipolis...now we face Gallia Academy.

Re: Division IV District Semi-Final (Jackson)
Meigs County has 3 schools-- Eastern Reedsville, Racine Southern, and Meigs High School. Eastern and Southern are both in the TVC Hocking, Meigs is in TVC Ohio. Each school is within 20 minutes of the other and while Eastern and Southern are huge rivals, Meigs is also considered a rival. We at Eastern get a "little" testy being referred to as "Eastern Meigs" because of all these factors. Small area is an understatement to say the least! LOLIronman92 wrote:Thank You!
