Hiland, a perennial power, who had a down year by their standards (12-8 regular season), just knocked off #8 Rosecrans tonight in double-OT 36-35, in a sectional final at Claymont HS.

Rosecrans came in after a 16-4 regular season, and finish at 17-5. Their four regular season losses were against Shadyside, Fort Frye, Dayton Chaminade-Julienne and River View.

Were the voted seeds matched up 1/8, 2/7, 3/6, 4/5, or was it the goofy procedure of letting the seeds just set the order of when each school put themselves where they wanted on the bracket and go for broke in the first game if they'd like if they think they match up well?

In the East and most of the state the teams are seeded then 1 and 2 seeds are seperated followed 3-Exc seeding themselves so 3 could play 1 if they choose.Rosecrans beat Marietta but lost to FF.

Eastern District allows you to place yourself on the bracket where you want after the seeds are determined. Only rule is that the #1 and #2 must go into opposite halves of the bracket.

This was the second game for both teams. Rosecrans was the 8th ranked team in the state, and the 4 seed in the tournament. Hiland was actually the #1 seed.

Have to agree with Mightyoaksfan. Getting beat by Hiland is never an upset. They are one of the best DIV programs around.
