After a serious 'closed door' meeting with all the board administrators - we've decided not to dock your pay Floyd ... On one condition though - since it is 'aledgedly' Mrs. Floyd's fault - she MUST wear green to Saturday's championship games ... lol ... No purple scarfs, no purple blankets - ALL GREEN! And maybe a little gold too.

... Chillicothe put on a first half clinic in DEFENSE vs the Roundtown boyz from Circleville ... the Cavs of Coach Kellough forced 18 first half turnovers making the Tigers work hard just to get the ball up court - on 18 trips the ball ended up going the other way as Chillicothe behind balanced scoring on the offensive end opened up a 17 point half time lead Chillicothe 29 Circleville 12 at intermission ... Coach Evans appeared to get his Tigers attention as Circleville opened the 3rd quarter much more aggressive defensively forcing 8 Cavs turnovers in getting back in the game cutting the Chilli lead to 10 points 33-23 at the halfway mark in the period - time out Chillicothe ... Aaron Elliott corrected the Chilli skid draining a 3 ball to push the lead back to 13 - Circleville got no closer the rest of the way ... Circleville's strength was in the inside game coming into the game - which played into the defensive strength of the Cavs with Malik London as the protector of the paint - ML didn't disappoint as he filled the "napkin stat" line with 6 rbs/7 blocked shots/9 altered shots/4 forced turnovers ... the Cavalier Defense allowed only 5 Tiger buckets in the paint all game (inside the paint being the Circleville strength) ... with Chilli taking away the paint Circleville had to go to the perimeter game (out of their comfort zone) - Tigers were 4/9 from downtown - not nearly enough as the Cavs scoring trio of Zach Johnson/Aaron Elliott/Malik London with 18/17/16 points respectively provided all of the scoring Chillicothe would need to win another District Championship ...Chillicothe 65 Circleville 30 a final ...

Waverly 70 a final


... in the Friday nightcap Waverly took on the Fairland Dragons for the District Championship ... the game was billed as the TEAM from Fairland vs the one man show of D1 recruit Jake Kretzer for Waverly ... in the end it WAS Jake Kretzer's 37 points WITH plenty of support from the rest of the Tiger TEAM that defeated Coach Speeds Dragons ... Waverly 70 Fairland 59 a final ... Fairland came out of the blocks forcing 5 Waverly turnovers defensively while getting their talented post player Evan Salyers touches early for 8 points, with perimeter help from Evan Maddox's 2 triples - the Dragons looked sharp BUT unfortunately for FHS this was all in the first 4 minutes of the first quarter ... the 2nd 4 minutes belonged to the Tigers as Jake Kretzer ran with his size advantage over defender Eric Riley as the talented 6-6 Kretzer posted up the smaller Riley to the tune of 9 first quarter points ... Fairland 19 Waverly 15 after one ... Quarter number 2 was all Tigers - defensively Waverly kept the ball out of Salyers hands - no touches in the 2nd while controlling the boards at both ends - picking up 3 PB buckets down low in the quarter - Kretzer continued to get points in the flow of the game , while Brock Davis came off the bench for WHS to score 6 in the quarter ... Waverly 35 Fairland 28 at intermission ... Quarter number 3 was an offensive wash as both teams hit for 14 points in the quarter ... for Waverly it was all Kretzer (9 more points) while the Fairland scoring trio of Salyers (4 pts)/ Maddox (5 pts)/Fuller (5 pts) provided the offensive punch for the Dragons ...WHS 49 FHS 42 after three... the final period was entertaining as FHS made a run, getting the score down to 55-62 with 2:10 to play ... 57-64 with 1:15 left on the clock ... an iffy touch foul called on FHS/followed by an FHS turnover within 10 secs put this one out of reach as the Tigers big man Kretzer went 8/8 from the line in the 4th ... Waverly 70 Fairland 59 a final ...

6 of Irontons Opponants are in the Regional Semi Finals (4-D2) and (2-D3). 2 (D3) and 1 (D2) Teams lost in their District Final. Ironton was 7-3 vs these Teams (Split with Portsmouth).

...the Panthers of Coach Davis started the district final vs Peebles by draining 5/8 three pointers in the opening quarter to put the Indians behind the eight ball out of the gate - the 3 point Panther barrage was led by Javon Thompson's 3 treys flanked by Eric Kennedy/Brandon Noble with one each ... Peake 19 Peebles 11 after one ... Chesapeake never looked back, as Austin McMaster/Noble/Thompson pushed the Peake lead to 14 at the half ... while the Indians were being paced by their 6-6 Big Man in the Middle Jacob Daniels as he owned the paint for PHS hitting for 8 in the 2nd quarter/10 for the first half ... Chesapeake 39 Peebles 25 at the half ... the 3rd was full of action as Peebles worked on it's game plan of getting the ball into the paint to #42 Daniels while Pushing the ball at every opportunity while defensively taking the ball out of Austin McMaster's hands forcing the role players for the Peake to step up ...Peebles in the 3rd forced 6 CHS turnovers to slow down the CHS attack... offensively Peebles DID get the ball into the paint - Daniels didn't disappoint hitting for 9 in the quarter ... Beau Justice provided support from downtown hitting 2 trifectas ... BUT with all of the Peebles movement both offensively and defensively - the scoreboard showed that Chesapeake didn't give up any ground ... Peebles was STILL stuck in the mud as Patrick Hintz clamped down defensively on PHS Mr. Everything Trent Arey - P. Hintz gave up only 4 points to Arey in the first half of action while holding the PHS play maker to "0" for the 3rd ... Chesapeake 55 Peebles 41 after three periods ... Chesapeake balanced scoring in the 4th was good enough to pick up the district final "W" ... difficult to hold down the Panthers for all of the 32 game minutes - Peebles made it's run in the 3rd but when the smoke cleared all was well in Panther land ... this one belonged to Chesapeake from the opening tip Chesapeake 73 Peebles 56 a final ...
