d3 boys district-march 5th&6th

Post by coolfrog »

i have just found out from different sources that games on monday may be affected by ou. this will be of concern to ironton, portsmouth, piketon and lucasville valley. this will also appear in saturdays portsmouth daily times. it states-note: the outcome of saturday's noon college game between miami(ohio ) and ohio univ. could impact the ohsaa boys district games scheduled for monday the 5th and tuesday 6th. games may have to be rescheduled and relocated if ohio u. loses  and has to play opening round of mac tourney first round in athens convo. watch or try to follow noon game sat. to root on ohio to win. the first four teams in conference will draw byes into cleveland. first round games are at campus sites on the 5th. ohio's loss in midweek caused this to happen. hope for the best, i certainly am.

... jeepmadness ... Tuesday night's games were never in danger of being bumped ... with OU's win today they are moved into the MAC quarter finals in Cleveland later next week - no MAC games left at OU ... let the high school games go on now with no disruptions LOL ... ALL of the teams will play at the Convo now just as promised in the brochure that Lou Horvath puts out every year  ...

... the OU win also made sure that all of these high school players, fans get to hear the "voice" of high school hoops in Southern/SouthEastern Ohio - Lou Horvath - announce Basketball Thirty , their son's name mentioned pre game and during the game during Lou's game call on the PA ... heck I get excited being their hearing Lou's call ! can ONLY imagine what a youngster has going through his mind when Lou mentions his name during calling the game ... Monday night! 3 more games ! Basketball Thirty ! Division 3 Action!! ... I'm thinking I won't sleep the rest of the weekend now !!!!

... I HAVE TO mention how great it has been to run into sooooo many high school hoops fans in the first week of the Convo! I've met up with the usual cast of characters - the Portsmouth contingent with trojandave, biggdowgg & Co. making the trip to see Athens , Chillicothe ... have met many new acquaintances as well from Chillicothe, Southern (yes Hooper 11 & most Southern fans speak to me LOL) ... those great folks from Chesapeake who support the Panthers of Coach Davis home or away ... coaches Coach Davis of the peake, Coach Skinner of Athens ... it is such a great time in Athens this time of the year for everyone involved in boys high school hoops ... 2 MORE WEEKS for District and Regional action !!!!!!! I believe it was peake hoops who said when I shook his hand "Pfloyd, this is your time of the year isn't it ?" - I smiled and without hesitation answered "you know it , I love this time of the year" ... and it isn't just the hoops - it's the whole atmosphere of tournament action ... all of the great people who follow the game make it impossible to NOT love this game of boys high school hoops ... it's all about the people - fans, players, posters, the Lou Horvath's of the game who make it the "Show" it is ...

... I know many are saying - this guy needs to get a life ! - LOL ... maybe so ... I just know that from December to the middle of March boys high school hoops IS a major part of my life ... when I started to fight the "battle of LIFE" , when there is that possibility that the game you just saw might be your last ever, or the folks who showed you such graciousness when you walked thru their school doors might be the last fans of the game you will see ... or having Lou Horvath or Coach Davis climb into the Cheap Seats to sit down beside me to just chat - ask about me ............. I know I will be smiling, remembering all of these great basketball folks ... just great, caring people ... I will have no regrets in my Life whatsoever ... heck I don't even mind that a big part of the Convo is hanging out with 93bulldog!!! LOL ... it's ALL good ...

This is what the OHSAA website is showing. Ironton's game is at 5:30 instead of 5:00.

@pfloyd, ready to get back to the Convo for some hoops action tomorrow night. I had to leave after the Fairland/Warren game Friday as I received a text that my wife's aunt had been found murdered in Vinton County. Such a senseless tragedy, and the viewing and funeral was today. Would like to meet you in person if you are going to be there tomorrow night. I will be on SEOP when I get there. Rooting for the rockets and the TVC. They have to play the game of the year in order to beat Ironton. Very few turnovers and Courts and Warrington have to bring the A game. Hope to see 3 barnburners tomorrow night. Love high school hoops!!!
