District Final 3/10: Lucasville Valley vs. Portsmouth

Here we go folks!! 2 of the top teams in SEO battling it out for a district title...these 2 met in 2010 in a 4/5 game that Valley won 63-62 and many considered that an upset, as Portsmouth was favored even as the 5 seed. This trojan group made a run to the FF so they are tournament and battle tested!

Gonna be a great game on Saturday....

Saturday at the Convo will be another in a long line of outstanding "District Championship Saturdays" that take place every year on campus at OU!!! And, I think this game is the perfect "headliner" if you will, considering it is being played as the last of the day's 5 games. Portsmouth comes in having won 17 in a row and being the SEOAL Champs, while Valley enters having won 17 of their last 19 along with an SOC 2 title. Both teams are senior laden, veteran groups, who play very good defense. The Trojans have excellent speed and can definitely hurt you with their quickness, meanwhile the Indians boast the most size in the SE District and are very successful in the half-court game.

I'm very excited for Saturday!!!!

imo this game will come down to how the game is called. if the stripes let them play I would give the edge to portsmouth. If its called close then i think the pendulem swings over to valley. should be a great game!

I think Valley is by far the more rounded team. Portsmouth (by far) will have the best player on the court.

i watched Portsmouth play last night and I cannot figure out this. Hopefully a Portsmouth fan can answer this for me. Why does the coach not play number 1 this kid seems to be very capable of playing same 6 all night. Does not seem to make sense to me.

His record is 20 and 2 this year he won 20 games last year. took last years team to the final 4. had a winning record his first year as a high school varsity coach 2 years ago. so as a Portsmouth fan I dont think I will question his coaching ability. but I will say this he does has a couple young players on the bench that you will definatly be seeing in the next couple of years.

this should be a very good ball game bewteen two very good teams also should make for a very good crowd at the convoy...Scioto county will no doubt have folks comeing even from other schools to se this one.

All I can say is if Trojans play like they did last night against Valley, it will be long ride home for the Trojans.

Valley has a group of seniors that will play together. this group just knows how to win. Ptown might have the edge in talent but Valley will win this one on effort and team play. i say Valley by 8
