No matter who gets hired it's not going to be an easy task to turn Meigs into a contender in the TVC.
As far sa i know now maybe 1 varsity boy is playing off season ball. Losing Smith means little talent left. Boyer will make them solid at the guard.I think the 7th grade team was pretty good. Not a really loaded team.

No easy task but it can be done. Remember no teaching job open so has to be someone whos schedule allows and is not a teacher.

there is talent to play basketball. unfortunately none ever seems to make it to the floor due to politics or stupid coaching or just plain laziness from the kids. a tradition has to be started. last years team would have been a good point but it was destroyed when simpson left.

i have a friend from the pomeroy area said that meigs will hire yates from vc. i guess he coached football years back and looking to get back into coaching. if so, that is a big loss for vc, i guess yates has 2 sons who can play.

Vinton can keep Coach Yates and his boys. No need to go get kids from other counties to make Meigs better...Is that really going to do anything? Even if Meigs is successful with kids from other counties, all your going to hear is that it wasn't Meigs Talent that made them successful. Meigs has enough talent coming up that they don't need a few average players to join them.

well, lookey here, a whole new mess that i can bicker about. i herd it too, coach yates is leavin vc, because of the nonsense that has been goin on in the high school over the last 2 years, and he is takin his sons with him. vc should be proud, running off another fine vc family. and meigs pride, someone needs to tell bartrum, cause as i here it bartrum is the lead recruiter for meigs. and isnt he a commissionor? if so, that cant make those that live in the eastern (eagle territory) and southern (tornado territory) part of the county very happy.

Thats why Meigs will never get better. Too many parents only worried about their own kids and not the program.

A Coach who by default will not play politics with the BOE, The Buddy System and their kids.
