Eastern Eagles 2012-2013
Re: Eastern Eagles 2012-2013
To say this year's team is better than last year's team is a dumb statement in itself. Last year's team made it to a regional final, this team has done nothing yet. Just be content to play your role and maybe this team can have success like last year. I'm guessing FF will have a say in that.

Fairfield. Everyone can't be the superstar, just be content with being on a good team and contribute what you can. We don't need to start this stuff of this kid is better than that kid. If a kid is really better you won't have to get on here and tell people they will know by how they play. Basketball is a team sport, lets keep it that way.

I agree grinder 100% all I was trying to say was befor Chad hurt his shoulder this summer he was knocking down 3's as consistently as Colton . They all know there job on the team and how they can contribute .
Any ways I can see this thread starting to twist off course .
So back to positives Tay has played very well this summer as well as the guards rebounding and he's been automatic from 15-17 foot. He has defended without fouling so that's a real plus. My son Colton is very excited about the up comeing year and as close as the team is I think they an compeat for a lot of wins. Good luck boys.

I like how Eastern competes and how coach Fitch runs his team. They struggled shooting the ball last night against a longer Valley team, but they played very hard. With Lands on the floor, Eastern should be right there in the SOC and, with a good draw, have a shot at another good tournament run.lightle04 wrote:Lets see how the boys do aginst a SOC 2 league favorite.

the little (sp?) kid is clearly better than lands all around and a shooter that much is clear

Crab I think you guys are the deepest team in the SOC2 I have seen every one of the top 4 teams this summer Mindord,Burg,Oak Hill,Valley right now I think it's Valley and Minford with Oak hill very close only thing hurting Oak Hill is lack of size the other top 2 have. But I like Valley and Minfords chances of winning the league.

Did the Eagles compete pretty well last night, or was it pretty lop sided?Crab's brother wrote:I like how Eastern competes and how coach Fitch runs his team. They played 6 quarters and I think Valley won 5 of them. All but 1 of the periods were fairly close, but they used a little different scoring on free throws, so it was tough to tell. Valley did play 9 kids almost an equal amount and 2 others quite a bit. Without sounding biased and arrogant, it did seem as though Valley was the better and more talented team. Eastern played harder than Valley at times and were in better shape than the Indians, but Valley was better.SOCFAN1430 wrote:Did the Eagles compete pretty well last night, or was it pretty lop sided?Crab's brother wrote:I like how Eastern competes and how coach Fitch runs his team. I think Valleys size was a big difference maker last night. Valley was the better team in my opinion . But there size and strength was the deciding factor . The Dunn boy is a load . Glad that team is D-3 and in the big division of the SOC . Once again good luck this year Valley.

I would have expected all of those things, but it's always good to play the best competition you can to make your team better. Valley should be tough this year and compete for another SOC2 title.

Well guys Fridays the day. All the blood sweat and tears of the summer. All the practices of beating up on each other to get prepared for the season is over. You guys have the ability and depth to have an great year. You seniors have set season goals for the team and now it's time to achieve those goals . Good luck to you boys go get'em Eagles.
Re: Eastern Eagles 2012-2013
Good job tonight boys . Seamed a little jittery to start first half was a little shaky down 1 at half but PJ got them settled and by mid 3rd quarter they got a grip on the game almost matching there first half total in the 3rd quarter alone. Get some rest and tomarrow head south to get another big win !!

The Eagles defeat Wellston 63-55. Lands led the way with 15pts, Lightle and Fultz both chip in with 12.
Re: Eastern Eagles 2012-2013
Pickett also had 10 and sophmore Josh Thacker had 8. Very balanced attack tonight by the Eagles .
