Ok boys another big game tommarrow with huge league implications ! East has one of the best 1-2 combos in the area in Bias and Craiger and it would make there season to knock you out of first in the league . Plus it would all but guarantee them the #2 seed at there sectional. You guys have turned this year around after a 2-2 start. Remember how bad those looses tasted !! And the reason you turned the season around was your commitment to "Deffense" !!! You guys give them your best for 4 quarters and get the win . There ready and waiting to jump on you like they did South Webster ! So good luck guys go get'em !!!

Awesome to see the boys being recognized for a great season so far! Can't remember last time Eastern was ranked in the AP Poll..a lot of tradition here and these boys have a great oppurtunity to add to that great tradition!!

I could b wrong but I think it is 87-88 team and I believe they were ranked as high as 3 or 4 very great team one of best I can remember if not the best

I'm thinking the 05-06 Eagles were ranked in a similar spot, 13 or so for few weeks but not in the top 10. The 18-2 regular season of the 88-89 Eagles finished # 10 in the final AP poll, and I'm pretty sure the 87-88 Eagles that went undefeated in the regular season finished in the top 3 in the final AP poll.

It's ok boys the West game was a great FOOTBALL game good clean tackleing a few riffing the passer penalties were missed but all in all Vince Lombardy would have been pleased. Now on to league play Western is comeing off a 10 point win over Symmes Valley and would love to play spoiler to your chances of winning the league. Stay focused it was only 12 pts at there place. The Fite kid is really playing great ball in the paint he has a motor that never quits he had 16 pts 9 reb against Symmes and there size we need to keep him in check and know where Garritt is. Shanks is going to get his that won't change but the supporting cast we need to do a better job this time with.

I agree the game was physical but I don't think the reason the Eagles lost was because West turned it into a football game. West out muscled and out hustled Eastern for most of the night, especially in the 1st half. If the refs are going to let you play physical then you better get tough and play that way. Giving up 40 in a half won't win to many ball games, even with the offensive weapons they have. Also having a few players just flat out leave their jump shot at the house didn't help either. You will have nights like that and that's why defense has to be solid every single night.

West was able to push the tempo when they wanted and we didn't do a good job of getting back on D in the 1st half. Then they pounded it inside or got the offensive rebounds for extra possesions. I think Eastern beats West 8 outta 10 games but they played once and West was the better team Saturday night. They were able to execute a little better than Eastern did, but I think this loss is the best thing that could've happened to this team. Get re focused and head into tournament ready to make another deep run. Go Eagles

We havnt had one player in foul trouble all season . All of a sudden 2 foul out and 2 finish with 4 . The boys didn't forget how to play 17 games into the season is all I'm saying. West made it very physical and it worked they had a great game plan and stuck to it. They won bottom line but you can't convince me the style of play wasn't a factor we got physicaly beat up first half . Second half Eastern made adjustments and had a shot at the end but the foul line got us . We missed what ones we got . They had 27 of them we had 13 but missed ours when it counted.

They won the Waverly Holiday Classic by beating D-2 Waverly and the Piketon Redstreaks who ended the season ranked 9th in the final AP poll. They also got the #1 seed in there sectional . They also won the SOC 1 outright . At the begining of the year these boys set goals they wanted to achieve . Win the classic,win there league, finish the season ranked, they have done all this while focusing on one goal trying to make it to state. There commitment to defense is what has helped them to get so much accomplished this season. They have several talented players including maybe one of the top 5 players in there region in Chad "BAD" Lands . Good luck boys stay focused and keep the defensive intensity up. We are all proud of you and tommarrow starts the final approach to achieving your final goal . We the community will be behind you good luck and go get'em Eagles !!!
