Like you are heading towards Portsmouth....and when you get to Lucasville you can turn left and go to Valley and if you turn right you go towards Northwest HS....basically a trip to Portsmouth minus 12-15 bus minutes.

Well since its 12-15 minutes less on a bus that's just great! You have to be kidding me. They can't find a decent venue centrally located?

Jackson has played 8 games versus most of the tougher teams in that sectional. 5-3, two losses were losing on 2 errors in the bottom of the 6th and 3 passed balls with our starting catcher out due to illness. Our wins were all quite tight as well except for tonight's 9-3 win over 14-2 Warren.

The sectional will be many games of excellent softball....can't wait!
But with the good thing of the SE getting two teams to regional, it will basically be win one game and then get cross-matched with teams from the other sectional like it was in basketball. Also means this year top two seeds get only one home game before going to a neutral site.

Northwest is not only a significant drive from many schools, the facilities are solid, but not as nice as you would like to see for district play.

I agree that you want very nice facilities for the 2nd level of the tournament as it should be special for the players. That being said, I'd rather win at the districts playing on the worst field around than lose at the districts playing in GABP.

District games should have stayed at Unioto. I heard there were some complaints about Unioto getting to play on its home field. Big deal. The best team wins. No offense to NW, but it is out of the way for most schools in Division II. Chillicothe was a good crossroads for a majority of district teams.

Unioto was a good location, but you just can't allow a team to have that kind of unfair advantage to play on their homefield!

There are just too many places to play to have a team play at home in the districts...ridiculous that it ever happened.

We have 4 losses and we've played 3 of those same teams at home and are 3-0 against those same teams. We are 9-0 at home and 4-4 on the road....it is a big deal.

Keep the District at Unioto!

Dedicated field crew that will have the diamond ready to play.
well manicured field that drains within 15 minutes of .02" rain,
state of the art aluminum bleachers resting on a concrete pad "both home and visitors"
Large dugouts,
central located,
great parking,
clean restrooms
and the concession stand has the best chili dogs in all of Southern Ohio.

This location has not hurt Logan Elm from advancing to the Regionals. in fact Unioto has only beat one team in the Districts when playing at Camp Sherman field.

With regards to Bob Seger.....

I think I'm going to Northwest-man-dude,
That's really, really where I'm going to.
If the lady Shermans get out of here,
That's what I'm gonna do.

Northwest-man-dude,
I think that's where I'm going to.
If SHermans get out of here,
I'm going to Northwest-man-dude.

I got no kick against the west coast
Warren brothers are such good hosts.
I raise my whiskey glass and give them a toast,
I'm sure they know it's true.

I got no rap against the TVC plates.
Every time I've been there
Kenny Bixx has treated me great.
But now the District tourney is leaving
so dont be late
And lets hope all our GPSs are true.

That's why I'm going to Northwest-man-dude,
Through the mountains where the ball rolls back to you,
And if the Lady Shermans get out of here that's what I'm gonna do.
No - No - No - No - No - Northwest-man-dude,
That's really, really where I'm going to,
Oh, if the lady Shermans get out of here I'm going to Northwest-man-dude.

I got no quarrel with Waverlys nest,
The folks Down there have given me their best.
I lived by there all my life, I've been their guest,
I sure have loved it, too.

I'm tired of hearing about the SVC expansion news.
The Lady Shermans are driving the ball hard and paying dues.
I figure, Ladies, its the Districts cant afford to lose,
The rotund roundtowner cant blame this one on the men in blue.

That's why we all are going to Northwest-man-dude,

through the mountains where I'm going to.
If i ever get out of here that's what I'm gonna do.
No - No - No - No - No - Northwest-man-dude,
Take me, ladies, 'cause I'm going with you.
If the Lady Tank get out of here I'm going to Northwest-man-dude

I ain't got nothing 'gainst the Jackson post.
You want some people well they got the most.
And New Lex is like a friendly old ghost,
You seem to pass right through.
I know I'm gonna miss the District Camp Sherman Play.,
I guess i'll miss it every single day,
But no one wants to play here anyway,
I know our hosting days is through.

That's why I'm going to Northwest-man-dude,
through the mountains where I'm going to.
If the lady shermans get out of here,
That's what I'm gonna do.

No-No-No-No-No-Northwest-man-dude,
Really, really going to,
If the Tanks get out of here,
If the Lady Tanks get out of here,
If the Shermans get out of the Sectionals here,
I'm going to Northwest-man-dude.

??????????????

A- because I want the districts at Unioto?

B- because I'm a fan of Uncle Bob Seger?

C- my poor rhyming skills?

Regardless my answer is yes :aaaaa63 :aaaaa63

Onto serious matters-
The Sherman's have a huge league game tonight at home verses Zane Trace. Should be a good one.

Majority maybe, Warren and Marietta....no way. I don't care what others say, a 2 hour bus ride before a game makes it tough to play at a high standard. School buses are not comfortable not to mention these kids go a long time between meals on these trips.

I have always said the games should be at a neutral site midway between both schools. THAT would be fair.

Fair, but impractical, to have someone to host the game on short notice. I'd take the 3 hr drive to NW to play on a neutral field rather than a 2 hr trip to Unioto to play a team on their home field.
