Tri-match at Portsmouth Clay

Post by Nine20four »

Game 1

Portsmouth Clay 4 (10-0)
Leesburg-Fairfield 0

Autumn Griffith with the win

Game 2

Leesburg-Fairfield 7
Gallia Academy 12

Gallia scored 6 in the sixth to take the lead 7-6. Leesburg HR in bottom of sixth to tie it at 7. Gallia scores 5 in top half of 7th to go up 12-7.

Game 3

Portsmouth Clay 0
Gallia Academy 8

Clay simply couldn't get anything going offensively against a very good pitcher, and defensively Clay had more than 10 fielding errors. The Lady Panthers fall to 10-1.

Time to re-group.

Gallia Academy has been the comeback girls the past two games.

I'm interested in the Clay/Gallia game....should be pretty good.

GAHS started out slow against the Fairfieild Lady Lions but came alive in the last 2 innings scoring 6 in the 6th and 5 in the 7th while picking up 1 in the 4th. Fairfield jumped out to a 4-0 lead against our first pitcher and then we brought in Violet Pelfrey who got her second win in two days. The Angels had 7 hits--3 by Mattie Lanham.

Game 2 saw GAHS defeat previously unbeaten Portsmouth Clay 9-0. The Angels had 12 hits with NO errors! Kendra Barnes, Maggie Westfall, Kanessa Snyder, Megan Cochran and Chelsy Slone each had 2 hits. Pitcher Heather Ward got the win giving up 5 hits while striking out 6 and walking 2.

Good weekend for the Blue Angels. Should be 7-3 on the year and 3-1 in SEOAL play with Chillicothe coming to town Monday for a league matchup.
