They dont rotate match ups unless thats a recent change cause southern has only played the other south district champ once in the past 6 years and that was last yearnerkfan wrote:No this predermined before the season. They rotate it year to year. They also rotate the match ups. Here is a link for the past 4 tournaments.Hopper 11 wrote:It looks like they are going off past years instead of this year. I guess 27-0 doesn't mean anything? GO TORNADOES KEEP ROLLING!

Re: #6 Newark Catholic vs #2 Southern Regional semis
Lets see: Southern has to face off with Newark Catholic, in the first game at the regionals, versus their ace pitcher - AND the Tornadoes will be the away team giving NC the last at-bat?
The purple-and-gold may be undefeated - but I'm pretty sure they're going to be the underdog - which is fine ... The pressure of an undefeated season takes a back seat and is no longer an obstacle or issue if you are suddenly not the the 'favorite' anymore.

TCD - I wholeheartedly agree. At this point, these boys from Racine have absolutely nothin' to lose, so, go fight, play loose, and have fun. You are where you are for a reason, now go show those outside of SEO why you have EARNED the position that you are in at this point of the season! Wish you boys, and your parents, the best. I want to have a special reason to go to Huntington Park to watch a game this year. You are it. Now get there.

Not a shock
Newark Catholic plays a much better schedule league and non-league and this prepares them so well, especially when they are playing against teams their own size.

LOL. Newark Catholic is a private school. Southern a public school with boys that have been there since grade school. Enough said!!! Congrats Tornados from your Eagle supporters!

That is such a weak arguement and made by one I am sure who has no clue how long the group from Newark Cathoic has played together.
