I was told Valley scored 8 runs in the top of the 7th with 2 outs to beat Waverly 9-6...valley batter struck out with 2 outs but catcher dropped the ball and then just tossed the ball back to the mound. The batter made it to first and that's when valley started their 8 run rally. Waverly loaded the bases in the bottom of the 7th but couldn't score.

Not dropped third strike, uncaught. Ump said the kid scooped it. Most Waverly folks say he caught the ball, clean. I had to leave early and did not see this happen so I offer no opinion, just glad I left when I did. :12224

Of course the Waverly folks saw it that way. Umps handled that play and the game very well. Catcher caught the ball but it did hit the ground first. They got it correct. Well played game from both sides.

Dropped ball or not, how did they score 8 runs with 2 outs after that?
