Nice video of Ohio's Tess Sito , now at Georgia

Northern ohio's Tess Sito, Formerly of the Elyria Sundogs (2nd place finish at ASA 18 U Nationals in 2009) . Wanted to stay close to home out of HS , played a year at Cleveland St , transfered to Georgia and is good enough to be in the lineup either at 1st or pitching every game.
Check out her swing around the 3;00 to 3;30 mark of the video. High finish , hands above the lead shoulder . Arms not locked out at contact, bent lead elbow at contact. The biggest problem with hitters around here is a low finish , flat swing. " swing level" If you do your hands finish below the shoulder and full extension after contact is never reached. Short to the ball , and Sito is looong thru it. Thumping the back/shoulder with warm up swings does nothing but encourage poor mechanics . MD

Good post, MD. And very good points on hitting mechanics. To get kids to focus on these mechanics and then progress into swinging all out under control, takes a special athlete. The discipline is tremendous. Thanks.
