I'm really surprised that Coach Estep from Wheelersburg didn't get COY for the DIII South. He won his league title again with no losses in league play, he won the District, and they are like 25-2 or 26-2 on the year. Just what did Meigs do this season and are they still in the tourney?

Understand this was voted on May 6th
Meigs Won their league, Lost in District Semis
Adena, Meigs and Wheelersburg were all voted #1 Seeds on April 29th
Both coaches are very deserving.

Re: All League, District & State?
I can clarify.
Coach Estep is a great coach, deserving every year. But accolades for him he doesn't care that much about. He has been coach of the yr many times. It's nice to get some new blood that has not had the opportunity to coach in the all star game a chance to coach.
he was nominated, Bissell was nominated, and Litteral was nominated. By vote, Bissell received it.
many times a coach of the year should be looked at as a coach that gets everything out of team that may not have done what they did without him. Not Saying Coach Estep doesn't get everything out of his players. They have great players year in a year out. I think other coaches getting the nod is a good thing for the district.

How do you not get SOC COY when you you go undefeated in league play and dominate the league?
baseball16, I understand that Coach Estep doesn't really care a lot about these awards, but it's still nice to your peers recognize you when you excel year in and year out.

Coach rapp at west did a great job this yr for west. Doesn't always have to go to the champion.
Coach Estep has been recognized many times by his peers. Nice to give others some recognition.

Re: All League, District & State?
baseball16,i have to comment on this after seeing the way you voted on the coy.I have to fall back on your selections on the players you chosen from your team after finding out who they were.It is hard for a few who is following the team to unstand who you say was selected by your peers to make soc [ect].You had to talk up these players for league coaches to vote on.You ,maybe had two players that should have been mentioned and your catcher was not one of them.Dont select players just because what these kids parents do at your field.Your suppose to gauge them from the field.Getting back to your vote on coy,how in the world does coach estepp not win this , he goes un-defeated and doesnt win? Sounds like your just tired of voting for him.If your not going to select players and vote the right way ,you shouldnt be in-volved.

Re: All League, District & State?
Did I say I didnt vote for him?
All I'm saying is coach rapp is very deserving. He would have received 5 votes to win. Its not like I said , ok, coach rapp is the winner. Lol , obviously 5 coaches voted for rapp.
As for my all league selections you are welcome to call me anytime to discuss it. I have nothing to hide.
My name is Jason wright. Head coach of oak hill. Call me anytime!!!

and here i thought we were getting away from the goofy idea of "everybody gets a trophy" to help their self esteem.
and bb16, if that is your mentality, i agree with bigmama that you shouldn't even be voting.
(and it is beyond me what an adult DIRECTLY involved with the leagues, teams, etc. and voting, is even posting openly on a site .... narcissism ?? ego ?
this is about the BEST players, the BEST teams and the BEST coaches.....it's NOT about "let's give little jimmy a marble because he has never had one before".
why not just rotate down through the league teams, players and coaches every year and give everybody an award and trophy?
apparently Mr. jason has never won his league or COY ....
grow up young man !!!!

Congrats to all the players and coaches on their great seasons. Look forward to all star game on June 4.
Reason I posted in first place is to shed some light on district coach of the yr. congrats to coach bissell on a great yr.

Re: All League, District & State?
so bengalfan76, what area school do you coach at? you think its a joke that some kids just get left out because little johnny's parents dont help as much as the other coaches selection.Maybe every body doesnt work the same hours! Also wondering baseball16,did you also have your players text you who there vote was for ,just like your individual winners? That way you can pick who you want but say that who players voted for ? Go to your all-star game with your head held high.Btw coach estepp team still playing.Have a good day.

Biggmomma, Not that you deserve a response but if you would pull your head out you would know I am the HC Coach at Piketon HS.
I have not hidden my idenity as I have out my email, number and address on here many times.
What you obviously do not understand, In the league voting you can not vote for your own kids. And no I do not think it is funny that a kid does not make all league it is not a joke you are a joke.. I highly doubt the line up or nomination list is affected by who works on the field. However, your not helping your son at all by badmouthing him on here. Maybe if you spent as much time pushing him to the field to work on his game as you do blaming everyone else for his faults then MAYBE he could be ALL OHIO JMHO. HAve a great day. You know what they say about excuses!!!!!!

real classy post from a COACH ( ) to a parent.bengalfan76 wrote: And no I do not think it is funny that a kid does not make all league it is not a joke you are a joke..
( not to mention your sentence structure and punctuation. )
you and bb16 need to get together and commiserate over lunch sometime.

So you subscribe to the theory it is ok to complain about every coach her kid has had. Last time I checked Baseball not required for graduation.
And yes I feel her complaining and calling out a coach about the way she votes is a joke. BTW great comeback from the Grammar Police.

Re: All League, District & State?
So it is not ok for a coach to address something a parent says on here but it is ok for an SEOP staff member to go after posters when they try to defend themselves? Sad to see that if someone doesn't share KVDW's point of view that person will get bashed.
Re: All League, District & State?
i subscribe to the theory that it doesn't matter what SHE says, i believe that if an adult COACH'S ego demands that he/she get on a kids site and openly argue with a parent, it should be the COACH that retains the class and dignity in the conversation.bengalfan76 wrote:

like it or not, you are representing your school..... and very poorly so.
