1992 graduate of Logan HS. Four-year starter at Ohio State, which includes a national runner-up her freshman year as the Lady Bucks lost to Sheryl Swoopes and Texas Tech in the finals. Played for a handful of WNBA teams, including Minnesota and Detroit.

The best basketball player - male or female - I have ever seen live. Period.

She was a senior at Logan when I was a freshman at Jackson. She could have started for any boys team in the league that year and been a major impact.

Lost to Pickerington (now Pickerington Central) in the Division I state final her senior year. The first OHSAA state championship I ever attended, and Pickerington threw the world at her that day before she fouled out with a minute left in regulation.

Several years ago Logan's track coach went to Texas for some kind of meeting and was ask by another coach where he was from and he said Logan,Ohio and the guy came back with "The Home of Katie Smith"
