Jackson has possibly the best facilities in southern ohio and awesome community support.
Re: Jackson Coach Heath McKinniss Resigns
I really believe they should go young, it won't be long before one of these guys finally gets the opportunity and I believe they will covet that opportunity to full maximum potential. Jackson should take a serious serious look at them.Ironmen44 wrote:Jackson has possibly the best facilities in southern ohio and awesome community support.
Re: Jackson Coach Heath McKinniss Resigns
I agree!!!! Awesome football and basketball facilities!!! Better than a lot of small colleges!!! Huge community support!!! It seems they have everything a coach could want...which is why I asked the question!!!
Re: Jackson Coach Heath McKinniss Resigns
I heard they were going outside the area (way outside). Great opportunity for anyone that can handle the pressure.
Re: Jackson Coach Heath McKinniss Resigns
They have had some very good coaches who were very committed. The decline of this program has nothing to do with the coaches they have had. Facilities look great, but it is committed players with good leadership that makes winning

Re: Jackson Coach Heath McKinniss Resigns
I hear that Mike Stevens from Kings High School has inquired about the job....does anyone know Mike and has anyone heard if this is true? Heard he was in Jackson over the weekend and met with one of the administrators....
Re: Jackson Coach Heath McKinniss Resigns
Mike helped coach way back during the Glen Gillespie years I believe. He left and had a very good coaching career at Kings and his son just graduated a couple years ago. Mike is around 50 years old and his mother still resides in Jackson.
His resume would be tough to beat.
His brother Pat was one of the best basketball players to ever go through Jackson.

I'm not sure if I can post or not.......it seems my last post got kicked off!! Especially when I questioned the awesome community support. I still have a hard time seeing the community support here. It seems the community was the reason we have lost these good coaches since the weak administration was not able to stand up to a few influencial persons from the community. And I haven't seen a good crowd compared to some other local schools around here that support they're program in years. Fair weather support at best!
It's all a personal vendetta. Nothing to be gained. I wish it could be made more public and maybe people would quit visiting her business. That might get her attention!!

Re: Jackson Coach Heath McKinniss Resigns
what happen to my post? cant tell the truth anymore? those people should be ashame. ggrad78 the hair dresser daughter played for coach mckinniss back in 2006 or 07, the daughter got into school trouble and was discipline. the hair dresser and her brother took their anger out on mckinniss and had him remove as girls coach. mckinniss went to rio grande to coach and was hired back as boys coach two years ago. he was finally the long term solution for a school who went thru five gazillon coachs in the last 7 years. but unfortunately, coach mckinniss had a incident that resulted in a kid being struck, it was a accident. but the hair dresser and her brother use the opportunity to inflict more personal vendetta against mckinniss. the hair dresser and her brother sent anoymous emails to admin and bord members, later admitted it, to get mckinniss in trouble. this is just the extension of his suspension from last year brought around by two individuals with anger, personal vendetta, and are just not very nice people. because this is petty, and they should be ashame and embarrass for what they did to their community.

Re: Jackson Coach Heath McKinniss Resigns
It's my understanding there was a board meeting tonight? Any info?
Re: Jackson Coach Heath McKinniss Resigns
I believe he is undefeated at the varsity level.
I believe he was the JV coach for a few years the last time Jackson won the SEOAL.
Does Jackson play Meigs again this year? If so it'll be father versus son.

Re: Jackson Coach Heath McKinniss Resigns
Is this a temporary thing as in 1-2 years, or does Kight have the passion and desire to build a basketball program at Jackson? I know he is older with no varsity experience, which is what raised my question, it would seam he would of already landed a job at the varsity level if he had this true desire to be a varsity coach. No disrespect at all by the way, just curious. This could very well be a new born desire. Best of Luck to Coach Kight!
Re: Jackson Coach Heath McKinniss Resigns
according to the article he never applied, was on the search committee and said he would take the job after they didn't like any of the applicants. Looks like a short term resolution.
