Dayton will be the backup to whobrey according to sources I have heard . Freshman vs senior almost always favors the senior . Dayton will fill in nicely the next few years after a seasoning of jv and growing wiser with the system. Come injury or bad execution tho. ... Who knows what could happen.

Jeff got hurt his senior season and never really fully recovered but Jared is now playing at the university of Cincinnati4thnpine wrote:iluvgahs wrote:If you have not noticed that Jeff golden and his brother were natural born division 1 athletes and still when Jeff started his freshman year he was paired with possibly the best receivers ever at gallia like jaymee haggarty hed just throw the ball in the air and they'd find it starting as a freshman is a rarity on a team with capable upper classmen and I didnt see any freshmen at the 7 on 7 with that ability
i am a gahs grad and support the blue in all sports but this might be stretching it a bit. what division I school did they play at?

Both boys were solid High school players.. And I hope you are right about Jared.. I checked the 2012 Cincinnati Bearcat roster and Jared was not mentioned... Maybe he has been red shirted or something similar to that... Like I said, hope you are correct about this......

I think people in our area have a hard time grasping what a D1 athlete is, especially when it comes to football. You have to be an absolute beast. It takes size, strength and speed. You have to be an absolute beast.

I know for sure Jared plays for cincy I saw him play in their spring game at TE he is now 6'1 around 230 and looks like a small truck lol he just joined the team this year so im not sure if the roster is updated but I assure you he is on the team

Yes Jared is playing for Cincy. There was picture of him in I think the Cincinnati paper making a catch during the spring game. Jeff played at OU for a year or two. I googled it and it has him there two years but I think it may have only been one. Heard he came home after his mother got pretty sick. Regardless, the two of them are some of finer people you will ever meet. Im sure neither one of them really wants everyone talking about them on a RV & Gallia 7 on 7 page lol

"Regardless, the two of them are some of finer people you will ever meet" Agreed 100%....

about 5% of all high school football players go on to play football at any level (JUCO, NAIA, D3,D2,D1-AA, D1)...not quite dime a dozen

Dayton Hardway is a really nice 5'-10" or 5'-11" athlete who I see growing to be around 6'-2" he is good in all sports so he is an athlete.BlizzardMan wrote:I wanna know what RVBalldude thinks about this. Can you see Dayton being the guy?
Whobrey is almost the same height prob just a bit taller and bigger. Whobrey by far has the better arm right now!
Ready to be the starter on the varsity team at River Valley??? NO! He is to frail and young and coaches know what damage it could do to him mentally if he were to fail as a freshmen!
Unless Whobrey can't see the defense any better than he did at times last year and stop trying to make plays when they are not there.
I think Whobrey will get knocked around a bit and Dayton will get some PT in backup, now! If Dayton shines ole Austin could be moved to receiver.
I think Whobrey will be the starter all year, and for you who think it means anything that Coach Sparling is married to Dayton's sister,it doesn't Sparling will play the best player and whom ever gives him a chance to win.
Re: Gallia Academy vs River Valley 7on 7
if he is the freshman qb from RV he had a lightning release and was super accurate, but the rv kids look like they know more about a true passing game than GA who will most likely use pullins as the hammer this year,i just hope we find a speedy wb to take some of the pressure off him.
be interesting to see how both teams react on defense, mainly how we react to power running games?
