Games are played on the court not on the Moose's laptop.

I think Logan will have the talent to play with anyone and I would look for an uptempo style of play this season. This is a good group of kids coming back with some up and coming younger players. Gabe Smith could be a good player if he works harder, I like the Cottril kid and he plays well at the point but the new varsity kids up from JV will all need to play well and get minutes to improve. Jourdan can shoot it, so can McNeil and Myers is a scrapper down low. Vermillion I think is the key to this team. He needs to have a great Senior year.

... I'm excited to see the 2012-13 Edition of the Purple! the players have been working on their individual games since last year for some - shooting daily, some attending individual camps at colleges around the state (i.e. OSU camp) ... the kids are getting pumped to get the official go ahead/ conditioning has begun P90X workouts etc. ... great thing that I have seen has been Coach Helber meeting with his "new" brain trust (Coaches Landis & Cassady) daily! the 3 have attended clinics seemingly everywhere this fall , they have been looking at how to best use their returning talent , the talent coming up from JV as well as the incoming athletes in this years "talented" freshmen group ... EVERYTHING is positive ! the kids see the coaching staff daily, the kids feel the excitement among the coaches ... I know it is a highly debatable subject BUT imo it is important that the coaching staff is in the same building as their players - provides continuity/TEAM imo and it IS something that can be seen by an outsider - that TEAM relationship among coaches and players ... tough schedule for the Purple with all of the road games to start the season BUT this group will be fun to watch/ will be in every game they play , will come away with some quality "W's" this season ... Warren may be the team to beat in the SEOAL BUT Coach Helber's troops will be right there near or at the top when all is said and done in February ...

16 wins.....WOW!!! I hope you are right, but as I told Logangrad picking with your heart does not always get good results. I think 16 wins is stretch especially with one starter with a torn acl. He is going to try to play through it, but that going to be hard.

Logan is definitely a underdog for this season. But with a good group of kids that have been together for awhile that top the charts out with team chemistry, these boys know what a win is and how to get it. This might be a long shot but I see them contending at the top with warren for a SEOAL title.

Logan can win 15 games. For it to be more than that they will need to pull some upsets.

... there is no reason in my mind that this group of players who have been thru the highs and lows of the sport WILL get it done this season ... having the man in the middle with ACL issues IS a big deal BUT I look for others to step up big - Mutzner NEEDS to play the game he showed his sophomore year imo his sophomore campaign was far better that last years efforts ... Tristan Myers has the body to be a factor on the boards and around the rim while being able to take his defender away from the hoop as well - Myers showed the ability to get the baseline and score at the rim ... another breakout season needs to come from Bird McNeal - he didn't show the ability to handle the ball last season - Bird has to be a threat to be able to handle the ball, use his length to get to the rim ... if he can get to the rim off the dribble it will open up his perimeter game where he can take advantage of his length to go over the top of defenders ... Jourdan will be the energizer bunny on the perimeter - harassing the ball on defense, forcing the bad passes then turning around to start the transition game ... offensively Jourdan will need to be a consistent perimeter scorer BUT he has to show that he can get into the paint either to score and more importantly to dish to Myers, Mutzner, Bird either slashing to the rim or setting up on the perimeter ... Watch for the Purple to run alot of spread offense to take advantage of their personnel - Gabe Smith will see the floor in the paint, Nick Kost/ Joey Cottrill both will handle the ball as teams try to pressure the Purple ... add to the mix the wide body of Kaylb Carter - he needs a lot of pt/practice time to get up to the speed of the varsity game ... I like the hustle of Tyler Bell to be a player who will see key minutes to spell starters ... all in all Smith,Kost,Cottrill, Carter, Bell will be adjusting to the speed/strength of the Varsity game - trying to stay out of foul trouble while contributing more than mistakes - it's ALL a learning processes ... Vermillion nursing the ACL will contribute where he can/ we will have to see how much upside he can bring to the floor - I'm sure there will minutes to be had - but they will need be quality minutes when he is on the floor ...

... 16-6 ?!! - it is doable ... it is doable ONLY if you believe , ONLY if you play within yourselves , IF players take care of their own games and allow others to do there jobs on the court that 16-6 is more doable every day ... "You have got to believe in the Power of the Purple TEAM" ...
