Re: Nelsonville-York vs Portsmouth West scrimmage (PHOTOS)
Looked like a stalemate to me ... 2 teams that looked identical to one another ... When I left, neither team was able to score a TD ... moved the ball o.k. - but couldn't score in a '10-play format'.
Re: Nelsonville-York vs Portsmouth West scrimmage (PHOTOS)
wasn't at the scrimmage but what i got from someone that was p. west 3 Ny 0. But i was told Ny threw 2 INT's for TD's so west only scored 1 TD on offense. Didn't hear how the jv's ended up.
Re: Nelsonville-York vs Portsmouth West scrimmage (PHOTOS)
I was told West won the varsity 4 to 0 and won the Jv 2 to 0. Said NY has a nice team but West did very well. Coaches were pleased.

Nelsonville-York was also playing without its tailback, Austin North ... In a scrimmage when all teams really do is run basic plays, missing your tailback is a pretty big loss. Handa is a fine runner - and D.J. Young is gonna be a huge plus for NY at the fullback position - but missing North will hurt the Bucks a little week 1 versus Trimble.
Re: Nelsonville-York vs Portsmouth West scrimmage (PHOTOS)
I thought it was a great showing of both teams!
Re: Nelsonville-York vs Portsmouth West scrimmage (PHOTOS)
Both teams showed flashes of greatness but being the first scrimmage of the year there were a ton of mental lapses and bonehead plays. Now the score for the game technically would be scored 1-0 west. Whistle was blown on both ints but west ran them out anyways. I didnt stay for jv had to be at work.
Re: Nelsonville-York vs Portsmouth West scrimmage (PHOTOS)
Also my played without Marc Carter who has been cleared to play now and will play vs. New lex
Re: Nelsonville-York vs Portsmouth West scrimmage (PHOTOS)
Good chance that these two teams will see each other again in the postseason

Was at the scrimmage for the varsity part and West moved the ball better in all possesions, if i remember right the closest nelsonville got was 20 yrds from the endzone, West got down to the ten twice fumbled once, and Austin Bricker scored the other, Bricker also had to interceptions for 2 touchdowns also

NY seniors have alot of talent, but not much experience. They will be tough to play as the season goes on. West looked good, not great, but has alot of potential. Both teams have a shot at playing week 11 if they stay injury free, and the players on both teams develop like they should.

Sounds like both team are headed for a good year.

I've watched 6 teams in the last 32 hours ... and I would say definitly, both NY & West, will have really good seasons!

What does that mean boiler? I didn't see anything Tuesday that would cause the 'Bucks 'to be in trouble.'boilermaker wrote:Trouble in Buchtel!

Didn't get to go to the srimmage sounds to me it was alot like the playoff game last year. Talked to some of the boys thet said NY has a good team, if we would happen to meet in the playoffs I hope its at a neutral site because that means it would be week 12 or 13. Good luck to the Buckeyes this season.

West has a strong group of players returning this year and should make the playoffs.
If NY played as good in the scrimmage as posters from WEST say they played, I think all of this doom and gloom talk from the anti-NY crowd will prove nonsense as it does every other year NY loses a lot to graduation. When you have a great program, you lose a lot to graduation almost every year! Great programs don't rebuild.........they reload!
