Lancaster is the pick. However they must play a good game. Looking for a winning season this year and potential run at a title. Chiefs need to get a solid ground game running this year and play tough D.

The number 1 thing I want to see from Logan this year is discipline, focus, and fundamentally sound defensive football.

The Chieftains gave up 29 points per game in 2010. They gave up nearly 34 points per game in 2011.

These numbers are simply unacceptable for any program to have success. There are certainly some factors that worked against Logan the last two years, namely the fact that the schedule got significantly more difficult thanks to the rapid growth of the Pickerington North and Reynoldsburg programs last season at the same time that Logan's talent fell off.

The schedule is a lot more reasonable. The SEOAL will not be as strong; well, teams 2-6 may be the same level but I don't believe anyone will be as strong as Jackson was the last two seasons.

I will consider it improvement if Logan can improve on the defensive side of the football, even if it doesn't correlate with a whole lot more victories. The offense is going to struggle without much talent on the outside. The running game will be good, but the schedule is still tough and I don't see many weak defenses.

Since I've been watching Logan football (back to the early '90s), defense was the hallmark of Chieftain football. I saw us hang in a lot of games because the defense was tough and stingy. I used to believe that we'd win about 90% of our games if we could score 3 times. That hasn't been true the last couple of years.

Guy's lets be real about our football program. Since Dale retired there has been a lack of discipline and sound offense, defense and special team play. I understand we are down in the talent but the records the last two years are unacceptable! Even with the lack of talent the Chiefs should have been around 500 each year. The schedule is what it is man up and play up! The Chiefs must go 7-3 or maybe 6-4 for this program to survive!

Get real. Lancaster will probably be the best team Logan will play. The SEOAL is once again weak and if Logan improves, should be a contender late in the season for a title.Logan wasn't embarrassed by Sheridan, who willbe a favorite in the MVL, very similar to the SEOAL. I understand the current Sr. & Jrs. had good records thru their careers, so talent should improve this year. Lancater should be a loss, but wouldn't sell the season short just now. The first few non-league games should give a better idea than the Lancaster game.

I tell you what man, I'm am super pumped for Friday. My wife and I will be in our purple in white cheering on coach Wolfe and the boys. Going to the ATM early to pay for some prime seats and maybe a few hotdogs with special chilli sauce on it to get the juices flowing, and then the time will come for the football to begin. Cheifs by a lot!!!!!!

Think Jackson is clearly the favorite despite some rebuilding there. Coach Hall is, IMO, the best coach and has the best staff in the SEOAL right now. They have a ton of talent in their freshman and sophomore classes to go along with some experienced juniors and seniors. I don't think they'll be as strong as the last 2 years, but I can't see them losing more than 2 games in the league.

Gallipolis will be strong too. I think their offense will be MUCH improved and their defense has some rebuilding to do, but I'm hearing good things about their progress. They only have about 35 kids or so, so depth could be an issue if they start to have some injuries.

After that, I think the rest of the league is really even. And there might not be a huge drop off from those two teams. Warren has the best QB in Leffingwell but lots of unproven talent around him, Portsmouth always has really good athletes but haven't really ever put it together in the SEOAL, and Chillicothe has Coach Hinton, but they have a small roster and only a handful of seniors.

Maybe someone will surprise me. I didn't expect Jackson to run over the league two years ago and they did. Last year, once Osborne transferred in to play QB, I knew they would probably go undefeated.

Like always a very good call on the SEOAL as for Logan They will finish After Jackson, Gallia ,Warren And then comes the Chiefs and folks, that leads to a 4-6 or 5-5 record with loses to Lancaster, NY, JA Gallia Jackson and Warren will be a toss up, But if the Chiefs fail to play with discipline look out for a 3-7 season!
