25 yard line top on the band side!chicken_coop wrote:Where were you sitting? We came in at 6:20 and there were NO seats on the Valley or LU side except for the taped off band areas, which we had to stand at the top of.Orange and Brown wrote:I was looking around because we were told that Valley would really pack em in last night and there were lots of empty seats where I was sitting!
Once again NY was able to host and provided plenty of room to sit and plenty of restroom facitly's and great food!!
It was a good games. Valley made it interesting toward the end of the game.
Valley was gassed at halftime and that was the difference in the game. They were just to tired to sustain long drives in the second half.
Good luck to Liberty Union next week.
There were empty seats all around me! You guys don't even know what packed in is

And there were a bunch of empty seats on the visiters side lol.......... Did you go to the right game?
Re: WEEK 13 Valley vs. Liberty Union
Interesting....A BUNCH of seats on the visitor side? Where are these empty seats again?

Re: WEEK 13 Valley vs. Liberty Union
Congratulations to Valley on a wonderful season . This season was more than amazing cause not to many people were expecting the Indians to reload after last years departing seniors . What this years team has done is nothing short of fantastic and shold be proud of there accomplishments . The SOC2 has been represented the last 2 years in the regional final that speaks volume for our conference . Work hard in the off season and come back next year with that same fire in your belly ! I really expect the SOC2 to be represented next year in this regional final with Minford, Valley, Burg , and West all returning great Junior classes , One of those teams will be there just to much talent down here in SOUTHERN OHIO !!!!!!!
Re: WEEK 13 Valley vs. Liberty Union
The SOC2 has been represented several years in the regional finals and has even won it a few times, and even in the state finals a couple of times and winning one of those.SOCMAN05 wrote: The SOC2 has been represented the last 2 years in the regional final

Re: WEEK 13 Valley vs. Liberty Union
I was just wondering the same thing. I'm sure it will have to be upgraded. Our contract ended with Rock Hill. I was just wondering who we picked up. I would like to see us pick up a school from further north or even a series with Wayne, WV.starbase_318 wrote:Is next year's schedule finalized? Just curiuos if it has been upgraded a tad!

Do we drop Northwest or are they on the schedule another year or so?

Re: WEEK 13 Valley vs. Liberty Union
Not positive. But I think 2013 is our last year playing them. I heard somewhere that they will only stay on Minfords schedule. I believe that is the only SOC 2 school they will play after next year. I also believe that next year is the last year on the contract for South Point as well.starbase_318 wrote:Do we drop Northwest or are they on the schedule another year or so?
Re: WEEK 13 Valley vs. Liberty Union
Nothing wrong with a little travel if you can pick up some good competition. Some team that is a little more balanced on offense typically.

Re: WEEK 13 Valley vs. Liberty Union
The next few years Valley should field competitive teams and I'd love to see them challenged in a few more non league games. I know travel is an issue but there are plenty of teams in a 50-mile radius that can elevate the level of competition.
Re: WEEK 13 Valley vs. Liberty Union
Even out to Columbus. If all we see is ground and pound it makes it difficult to prepare for a balanced or good pass teams in playoffs.
Re: WEEK 13 Valley vs. Liberty Union
This game should have been played either at Logan or Athens!izladoom wrote:Yeah I was shoulder to shoulder the whole game those stands was not close to being big enough no way that game should have been played there
Re: WEEK 13 Valley vs. Liberty Union
This score was pretty much an identical score of the Liberty Union - Wheelersburg game.
Liberty Union 24
Wheelersburg 13
Liberty Union 26
Lucasville.....14
Of the three local schools to play Liberty Union, Oak Hill played them the best game by far and came very close to beating them.
Oak Hill did a tremendous job of turning their season around from a 2-8 season last year to an 8-2 season this year including a nice and unexpected playoff run.
None of the three schools were expected to be any great shakes this year as none of them returned any big "stars" from last years teams in the skilled positions or on the lines...except maybe Hettinger from Valley.
Portsmouth West was touted to be the team to beat in the SOC II this year.
Valley had no returning "stars" in the backfield and their QB was more of a utility back last year moved to QB this year. I can't find the stats for this years QB from last year but they were meager I'm sure considering who he played behind.
The same could be said of Wheelersburg. No returning "stars" in their backfield at all and their QB was also converted from a utility RB and WR last year to a QB this year. His stats from last year were almost nil also and nobody was expecting any great shakes from him this year either.
Here are his stats from last year.
Eddie Miller 2011 stats as a sophomore:
School: Wheelersburg High School
Sport: Football
Height: 6'1''
Stats: 2011 Sophomore Stats
28 Yds. Passing, 1 TD Pass, 1 Int.
20 Rec., 339 Yds., 1 TD Rec.
31 carries, 188 Yds
(from elite Tristate sports)
Hats off to all three schools and especially Oak Hill. Nice job boys.

Re: WEEK 13 Valley vs. Liberty Union
You make no sense. You say "schedule up, schedule up...blah....blah.....blah....blah....."Paladin wrote:Face it.............. the truth hurts , doesn't it...............lol. The other regions are head and shoulders over your area.
If you won't do anything about it, live with it.
Why would "bigger" or "better" schools from north of 270 want to play the hillbillies of Ohio? Wouldnt they be in fact doing the exact opposite of what it takes (from your perspective) to win? Why would they want to be scheduling down? What good does it do for Kirtland to play Valley or Kenton to play Wheelersburg? Face it, it doesnt.
You cant have one team scheduling up without the other scheduling down. That is the flaw in your way of thinking.
And Ironton also defeated your way of thinking this year. Hartley, Watterson, Johnson Central all beat a rebuilding Ironton team. They beat them to the point that even with a week off during the season, they were down to nubs when it came time to play JM. What good does that do?
One with a clearer mind would think that there needs to be balance. A loss or two doesnt kill you if you were competitive and to a very good team. But you have to have winable games too. 5-5 and 6-4 records arent going to cut it in most regions. A school will have more points by winning 8 games to schools that finish .500 or better and dont all play each other than going 5-5 and losing to 5 teams that are in the state semifinals. That equals little points.
Flawed, flawed, flawed.
I will give you one thing, the northern half has been dominant in football over the past 10 years. The only state championship that comes to mind is 2002 Portsmouth West. 10 years Southern Ohio has been dry on championships. Ironton had the best chance just a couple years ago when they beat Hartley in the regular season and then lost to them in the Regional finals in a nailbiter (that we could discuss over an entire thread). Of course Hartley goes on to win the title.
No it comes down to having the horses and coaches to use them. Being better than the other team. Getting throttled by a Catholic school that recruits the inner city kids all day long by 40 points does nothing but get kids beat up. There are some very good coaches in Southern Ohio, but they lack the horses it takes to win outside of this part of the state.
It comes down to the kids and coaching and nothing else. A team that is extremely good can play the weakest schedule in the state and still thrash everyone in the region through the state finals if they are just that much better. Sure a harder schedule with winnable games is great but it really doesnt begin to overcome the amount of talent on the field and how it is used.

Re: WEEK 13 Valley vs. Liberty Union
Oh, and take out the entire Cincy area and look at the difference in the amount of schools north of the 270 line vs the south. Not even comparable. Probability of numbers is another huge aspect that you so sorely miss in your statements as well. Especially looking at the amount of schools per square mile and population per square mile in the Southeast Ohio area vs the rest of the state. Paladin you are so far off but you fail to realize it because you want to hear yourself talk and act like you know way more than what you really do. If your information and knowledge was so on point, you would have been a much better coach than you made out to be.

Typical. Thats called the "SEO DUCK". Its been pointed out for numerous years that small school teams ( and that is most of SEO) exist all over the state, most being small towns and teams from cow fields, that develope State Champs. No one down there wants to admit its schedules becuase you are too busy looking for someone easy to play and get a cheap win. Most, not all, most everyone does it down there . So................... learn to live with it. If you duck serious competition, you deserve no better than you get.
Thats a fact anywhere in the state.

And again you babble, put down SEO and fail to answer any of my questions. Typical....not surprising.
