The bucks go down 32-6. They actually looked halfway decent at times tonight, but mistakes absolutely killed us. Too many fumbles, problems between the QB and center and the horrible snap on the punt early in the game. When the Buckeyes got their only TD, the drive was 90+ yards. The QB hit one long pass and a couple of shorter ones. Even though there were still problems, he looked better this week. He stayed in the pocket a little better and didn't seem as jittery when he dropped back. Unfortunately, the defense is just too porous. They simply lack skill. They had major problems fighting off blocks, finding the ball and even tackling. The fundamentals just don't seem to be there yet.

N-Y may be in more trouble than I thought. I really expected the Bucks to be much better than these first two showings.

This game was UGLY

I think there was 8 or 9 turnovers, 3 or 4 missed point after kicks, snaps over the QB and punter heads and a lot of dropped passes.

Nelsonville York is young and it showed big time tonight.
The QB constantly threw passes behind his receivers and seemed to hurry his throws a lot, even when he had time to throw.

Newark Catholic used the running game big time tonight and it was a good thing it was working because the passing game was not there again this week. Good job by the coaching staff going with what was working.

Special teams(point after licks)were horrible. It looked liked when the kicker kicked the ball with force he was ok, but when he baby it(For lack of better words)he struggled. The snap look good as did the hold.

I think tackling was a lot better tonight along with the pass defense.

Good luck to the Buckeyes the rest of the season.

Oh boy, an 0-2 start for the first time in how many years? I hope that the natives up there in Nelsonville York don't decide to try and burn Coach Boston's representation in effigy.   ;-)

Last 0-2 start was back in 2003, Boston's first year, we ended up 7-3 and losing a playoff game by only 2 points.

I'm hoping that what you said about the natives getting upset with Boston over this season won't happen, but, I wouldn't put it past a few people coming from what I was hearing in the stands. There are always those people at the games that don't know how the game is played or how things work. It's going to be a down season and people should stand behind their coach and team through the best and the worst.

It will turn around. It always does.

Newark Catholic Fan. NY is starting 8 Seniors on each side of the ball. Dont know how you can call that young???? QB is Young and center and 1 receiver but everyone else on the offense is seniors. Plus when they get the 3 other kids out they are seniors also. Sounds like NY had many mistakes in this one. Yes never count out NY in the TVC because they will contend for it every year. I say NY and Athens will both be 4-0 in league play come week 10. I dont see anyone else in the league beating those 2.
Good luck to NY next week against BU.

I say young because the fans I spoke to said the players are young on experience as far as varsity times goes.

The only say they have in the TVC is who will finish last. We need the PE TEACHER and his old staff to take us back to the golden days.

The PE teacher has no interst in coaching football right now. They have to give Boston the chance to try to right things. If they do not beat Berne Union this week and River Valley the week after, people will really begin to question the programs direction. Yes in 2003 they started 0-2, but they did not look as bad, and did not make the mistakes this team is making. I really hope they do turn it around for the kids sake. They are playing ALOT of seniors.

Still time to turn it around. The schedule gets a little easier the next two weeks, plus we have 3 seniors who have yet to play a game, who could be cleared to play for Week 3.

6-4 may be generous at this point. We need to see how they respond against a team they SHOULD beat. 4 years ago they went up there and laid an egg. If they can win, they may be OK, if not, long, long season.

I watched both N-Y games on TV and I don't think they are that far off across the board talent wise from NC or Trimble but the Bucks are killing themselves with mental mistakes and unforced turnovers, the good news is that these things are correctable, the bad news is the season may be lost before they get the chance. With the TVC Ohio being down, I wouldn't give up on this team totally, they have enough players to turn things around if the coaching staff can keep them focused and interested.

Things will change this week, mark my words. The whole attitude has changed, and that is due to the leadership of one coach Boston Jr. He is a proven winner, and will win this week. A new season starts this Friday night, with the best player in the area returning to the playing field.
